Rear tires rubbing on AMG GLS 63, why?
rear tires: 325/40ZRZZ 114Y
Service said maybe defective sway bar? Anyone heard of this happened? Maybe bad design ? Too big of tires?
service still investigating however said that’s not suppose to happen. To be continued
Rear tires
Tread gone after 7,000 miles
Let me know what you find out if you dont mind.
Service tech was in the car and personally observed and heard the rubbing noise coming from the back.
Now that the tech heard the noise he is going to open a case with Mercedes.
At this time the tech doesn’t know what is wrong or causing the issue however he said the shop foreman will be taking over.
The tech said maybe rear differential but not confirmed yet.
more to come

Thanks picked up her car the afternoon.
Shop foreman discovered rubbing noise only happened when car was cold/ not hot after running.
Forman said caused by rear differential malfunctioning and found gear oil silvery/dark. Not okay. They put in a new rear differential and rebuilt it all. Also Mercedes replaced both rear tires given the situation.
Drive- the car drives tight now and feels different. when checking out today with (service department) stated he worked 20 years at a Tires store and he never heard of a car going through tires at 6-7k miles. Obviously we know why now.
sales guy who was helping get the car repaired thinks:
issues caused by: Internal component was possibly compromised at production like the metal had some inferior qualities and with the gears running together one wore down and those shavings spread..
Let’s hope this resolves it. (See photo)
