M157 Water Pump question

Gents

Currently planning to gather the required parts for the Water Pump / Thermostat / Turbo coolant lines replacement.
Going through the part list, I have a question. Does the Water Pump sold online at dealerships (A157200010764) does include the water pump gasket? or should I buy it separatelly?

Thanks in advance

David

Hi, pump gasket is separate from water pump.

No, it does not. Buy the gasket separately. The part number you listed is for the pump assembly only. Always verify with the dealer when you order, but plan to get the gasket (and thermostat seal) as individual items.

Thank you.

I will throw the turbo coolant lines in the mix.

I have a Mercedes ML 63 AMG W166. It`s make high pressure in the cooling system and I keep losing coolant. Excluding the head gasket, could there be other causes?

I changed it too. Before checking the cylinder head gasket, I want to eliminate all possibilities.

For my car...the heat soak goes up PARKED. While driving the temps are good. I have no idication of a head gasket issue...if I leave the hood open when parked, no heat issues. Hood down? I lose coolant.

I dont think I saw you were having this current issue. Is the car going above 199 when parked? Is the fan activating to get it back to 199, can ac force the fan on? Youve had coolant circuits open a bunch with recent work and when I recently had the heater valve replaced, it had to be re-vacuumed because I had immediate heat at idle with a low fan. Vacuum fixed it. The AMG tech didnt notice anything change but it was evident to me. I noticed it when the oil was 80 and the coolant above 200 right away. Our fans operate at very high temps right above 200 I believe, so it should not be on all the time unless ac demands it too. It's designed to heat up the car quickly but not immediately and not overheat obviously. This issue happened to me twice when others vacuumed the system but ive never had an issue diy.

I am guessing you see the radiator leaking or it was pressure tested for flow? I did mine at about ten years but I honestly dont remember why at this time, maybe a leak at a side seam. Fortunately radiators are a quick 1 hour diy. hopefully your all settled after this.

@Baltistyle I had it "fixed" some time ago with all the hoses replaced. It came back as a 'leak' at the intersections of the tubing under the aux coolant pump. We replaced the pump and then noticed a crack in the radiator on the driver side of the car.

The theory is heat soak when parked. According to my guys there is no sign of a bad head gasket...that said, I think that once I saw white smoke at FOT, but, cant verify that.

The temps parked will sit at 212 (oil) and 200 water. On the button, no matter how hard I drive. On occasion the oil will go 215 or so but only for a moment after pushing the car.

@Baltistyle So went out and made this quick vid....I am not so sure the coolant is supposed to move like that in the larger tank.

What I have found is it depends if the circuit is open or not. Ive seen this in multiple vehicles ive owned. For instance it would be still upon startup and start to move when the pumps activate or the thermostat is open.

I have not started my 63 in a few weeks so would be happy to check at start up and once it gets some heat to it for comparisons sake. Its an overflow tank but in circuit vs passive overflow tanks on many cars.

Likely not driving today but that shows a small bypass when in the startup circuit and I expect more if warm and tstat is open.
