Just an FYI, I was at the dealership yesterday getting my GLC serviced, and I checked in with my sales representative regarding the status of my custom build for the GLA. Build was still on schedule for January, but he noticed they had now deleted the power lift gate. It was a deal breaker since my mother (who would be using the car) needs the power lift gate due to physical limitations. Easy come, easy go! The sales advisor said any builds on the GLA 250 at this point (even regular builds, not just custom) will not have power life gates for the foreseeable future.

A few early 2022's had the premium pacdkage with the kick to open trunk that was power, but all subsequent have had premium package lite with no kick to open, and then also no regular power opening. The GLA is the only one with this deleted. The GLBs should all be built with power trunks.

Damn that sucks. Is power lift gate actually an option and not standard? My GLA35 came with a power lift gate and don’t think I could imagine having a boot without it. I understand on an A class that’d be ok, but not on a GLA.

The main reason they had to remove it is because of chip shortage, even the E-Class sedan/saloon doesn't get it as standard either as it is now subject to availability.

correction: the E Class comes standard with the power opening and closing, it’s just the kick to open feature that’s being deleted (from it and many others). The A and CLA I believe just have hydraulic opening assist, and the GLA has it standard but it’s being deleted with a credit on the sticker.

Yeah I’m aware of the chip shortage. It’s just amazing and upsetting to see how it’s affected production.

My 2022 GLB 250 just came in with missing standard feature like Power Seat and Power Liftgate. Just FYI that anything build after Feb 2022 will come missing those features.
It came with everything else order like Ambient light, Premium package, Sunroof package, Parking package but not the basic standard one.
Sale Person said at some point in future, Mercedes may/ may not do recall campaign to reinstall those features back in.

Good reason. I couldn’t settle for not getting power seats. I did manage to find 1 in a 100 mile radius with full interior ext premium package. But missing lift gate witch I was ok with. Dealers tried convincing me offering up to 5% off to get me in without powerseats. Just ludicrous to me to spend 50+ on a car without.

Have been looking also at the 2023 Mini Countryman and the power rear liftgate is deleted there too. What's with power liftgates?

My folks are looking for a GLA now, and can't find any with the larger screens and navigation. Is navigation now on the chip chopping block too?

In the GLA, is Apple Car Play wireless now? Or is it still the Mercedes style hardwired in?

Interesting that you can't find one with he 10.25 inch screens and nav. There's an abundance of them (with no AR feature - called the Multimedia Package LITE) near me in NY. Where are you located? I can't remember the last time I saw a dealership near me with a car with the 7 inch screens. Maybe 1 out of every 500 is like that in my area.
