Dream spec GLA45?

Hi Everyone,

I just bought my son an older GLA250 for college and really like the overall package. I'm now thinking a GLA 45 would make a nice commuter car and occasional track toy while helping to keep miles off my 2018 E63 wagon. I'd love to hear your experiences with these cars and especially if you have some of the options I'd be looking for such as the Performance seats, Performance exhaust, and the seemingly impossible to find AMG Dynamic Plus Package.

If there is a dream spec X156 for you, which one is it, and how is this to live with?

Thanks!
Rich

I have a 2018 GLA 45 AMG and used it as commuter car since 2018. It just turned 96k miles without a single issue. I think I'm going to keep it, just bought a 2025 E-450 in December and a new 2024 C63SE Performance last month. Actually haven't seen the C-63 yet, bought it and left town for Florida until May so it's sitting in my garage waiting for me, after full PPF and Ceramic along with ceramic window tint same as my E-450. The 450 is my wife's car and she could not take the AMG interior colors so I had to stay with the E450. But driving it to Florida the car was outstanding. I have almost every option available and it is fast, quite and rides like a dream. love the Air Suspension and rear steering. I drive fast but not hard, I went 73k miles before I needed breaks. I had the Mercedes extended warranty which actually ends April 1. Great car.

Out of the 3 cars, all different personalities, which one do you like the most.

Agree. Since I have never driven my new C-63 I can't really say about that one. I really enjoy my GLA 45, it's fast 0-60 about 3.9 and comfortable for commuting. There is a difference when you go from comfort, to sport or sport plus and finally Race. However the E450 0-60 is 4.4 so that's fast you just can't really feel it or hear it, it just goes. Now the C-63SE Performance is supposed to be 0-60 at 2,9 per Car and Driver magazine, but like I said I have never driven one or it so I just own one at this point. My daughter who is driving it around for the PPF and ceramic window tint etc says it's very fast and sounds great. I have owned many C and E class mercedes over the years, and just traded in a 2021 Porsche Macan GTS for the E450 for my wife. She thought the GLE was to big so she wanted to go back to the E-class and I didn't want another E-350. My GLA 45 doesn't have Performance exhaust but it does pop and bang when you want it to. So far my GLA 45 is the favorite, it's like new except for the 90k miles.

How come you didn't consider the GLC 63 S E Performance then, coming from a Macan?

This is my wife's car, and she didn't like any of the interior choices with any AMG. The comment I got was "this is my car so if you want an AMG interior then buy your own" well I took her advice and bought my C63SE Performance the way I wanted it. She doesn't like the red stitching in my GLA 45 or the sound or the ride in comfort let alone Sport plus. She is just an E class person, the only reason I got the 450 was for the motor, we had a couple of E-350's and while they are nice, you don't quite have the power that I like. I was shocked when she wanted the Macan and we liked it but she had an issue with the auto braking or hill hold, the car was a bit jerky when the feature activated and I guess it happened to many times for her liking. I can tell you she is not happy with the new door handles on the new E but I hope she will get used to them, they are tricky and you can get your hand caught if you not fast especially when you hit the lock button in the car when you really want to unlock. Yea, operator error on my part. Oh Well.
