GLB Delivery Delays?

I have been intently following this forum and reading lots of posts. I wanted to find out if anyone that ordered a GLB is experiencing delays. I ordered mine in June 2021. The dealer told me it had to be changed to a 2022 because Mercedes was no longer making 2021s at the time of my order. My order went into production in August of 2021 and was built in November. However, I still don’t know when I will receive the car. The dealer told me it’s in produced not shipped status. However, when I called the Mercedes customer service, I was told it is at VPC and a new part was recently added. I know we are facing challenging times but it’s pretty frustrating not knowing when to expect to receive the car. Anyone else facing delays on their GLB build order?

Wow, you are so lucky. I don’t know if one of my build options are what’s causing the delay.

I selected most options including the two tone leather interior and the AMG line. Maybe it’s the AMG holding it up??? Anyway, your responses are helpful, thanks.

Ordered July 2021, production was supposed to be September, was pushed to December, Then January. Got notice it was built Dec, 26, 2021... still waiting. No one can seem to answer why it's delayed or when it will come.

Did you select the AMG line option for your build?

There are a number of cars held up at the factory due to missing parts.

I'm halfway considering a custom order but cannot wait 6+ months. I've seen (2) brand new GLBs this week at dealers in Florida. Both had credits issued on the window sticker options for liftgate and power seats. Meaning, due to "chip shortages" they cars were sent out without a power liftgate and manual front seats. Credit was established at -300 for the liftgate and -700 for the power front seats. It got me wondering if any pending custom orders are waiting on the same thing.

Is it possible that I could put in a custom order and end up with the same result? Or would I be stuck in limbo like others here?

You are right. I do see a few of the GLBs at dealerships around me with the same credits. I do wish my car would be released like the other GLBs (I am assuming those options would be installed once supplies are available).

You may be better served by ordering a GLB currently available instead of going the custom build route.

GLB 35
As far as I know-- those features will not be added later. Logistically it would be difficult to fully change the seats and liftgate. I have a GLB 35 order hopefully going into production first week in March and my dealer doesnt think they will pull any features but he said he really doesn't know. I guess they have tried to avoid pulling features from the AMGs but who knows at this point!

Mer1018 here - got locked out of account.
I was contacted today by my dealer saying I was probably better off to just pick another model because production had been suspended on GLB again with zero indication of when it would resume. I am at about 7 months on my car order currently. It is in similar status to you built but not completed. Mine also switched to status B5C also.

mine is a custom order and I'm at 7 months waiting... I dont think that matters. My dealer says he can't even give me an estimate of when mine might be done as Mercedes will not tell dealers anything in regards to expected time.

Wow. I just wish they can give us an estimate delivery time, especially for those that have their builds already produced. I am giving myself a few more weeks before picking another GLB.

im considering switching to a GLC and just leasing. The primary reason I ordered was I wanted XM, and a couple other features that weren’t on any GLB’s on the lot. My dealer said he has not seen a GLB come in with XM in over 6 months.

2022 GLC 300 4 MATIC
I was at my Mercedes dealer yesterday for service on my 2021 GLB 250. SoCal area. Walking around the lot kicking tires, they had 6 new 2022 GLB's. The salesman said they just received them on Monday.

3 of them had credit on the window sticker for no power seats ($700) and no power lift gate ($300). Also had a $5K markup on every one of them.

Wow... so the expect people to pay over MSRP and the car might not have power seats, a power liftgate, or XM radio?

They did give credit for the deleted equipment but I'm sure the $5K markup is somewhat negotiable.

I think the $1k credit they give for that is a little light. As others said, it should impact the resale value. I'm on the hunt for a Galaxy Blue GLB. I've talked to 2 dealers in Florida, they claim they will sell at MSRP. I haven't seen them put a premium on them here.

Speaking of a market adjustment. Yesterday at the dealer took these photos. G wagon AMG 63. Sticker $181,700. Couldn't get a good photo of the markup but it was $125,000. Selling price, $306,700 and the salesman said it will sell there or close to it. High demand, very limited supply.

Currently waiting on mine from Dec 2021, said it’s would be here mid/late Jan and now it’s Mid/late Feb. Mercedes said it’s built and is sitting on a port in mexico waiting to be shipped. Frustrating for sure!

The G-wagon is a different animal altogether. There was one at my local dealer. They wanted 280k. Another dealer about 30 minutes away had 12 of them... Priced anywhere from 240k - 285k

2022 GLB 250 4matic
Did you actually get a VIN and all that as part of notification it was "produced"? I ordered my GLB with basically everything except Burmester sound (people said it is **** for the price and you were better off upgrading yourself) including AMG packages. Mine was ordered like July of 2021, and has been pushed back like three times. I want to say was originally going to be delivered in Nov of 2021, then pushed back to end of year, then pushed back to Feb, and then was told first of April. I did finally get a PDF with the "build" and it listed everything I ordered as well as a VIN. But I've heard nothing more for three weeks. I did notice that when I put my VIN into Mercedes ME after maybe two weeks of getting it I would see the vehicle change to match appearance of my vehicle and it would go into a verifying state for the vehicle. I'm hopeful that means it is actually built and shipped but have zero idea how long a wait I still have until it actually arrives. This **** is beyond frustrating but unless you want to go drop $40k on a used Outback there isn't many options. Where I live the GLBs that are delivered to dealers are way overpriced with zero features and almost never 4matic so I'm stuck waiting for nearly a year.

Still waiting for my build. When I was initially told that my GLB was out of production, I received the VIN. Even the dealership is frustrated on how long this is taking. And plus they haven’t received a lot of GLBs and I haven’t found one that I can get in place of it. So I am still waiting. He did say that it will be sold at the MSRP so no market adjustments. Some of these markups, like the G-Wagon above, are crazy.
