GLB250 4MATIC without power seats?

Hi everyone, I’ve posted a few times over the last few weeks and you’ve been extremely helpful. I found the vehicle I’d like to purchase and it has everything I want, except power seats (I just found out as I was reviewing the features one last time)

does anyone else have this car without power seats and if so, does it bother you?

I am having a difficult time spending 50k on a car without power seats.

thank you

All of the 2020 and 2021 models have power seats and driver/passenger seat memory. At least some of the newer model years are missing power seats and power lift gate options due to chip shortage. I am not positive if all of the 2022 models have that option missing or not.

Personally I would agree with you regarding not spending $50K on the car without power seats.

I was in the same boat earlier this year. It was a deal breaker for me. Too much money for a car without power seats and liftgate. I ended up seeing the same one for sale again used with 3k miles. I wonder if the original owner couldn't get over there either. I've seen 3 2022 models personally that were all missing the power seats/iftgates so I'd image none of them are going to have it since the the GLB is an entry level model. Some here have reported they are saving the chips needed for those items and putting them in the GLB 35s.

I ended up buying a 2020 model instead of brand new one.

It has a power liftgate just no power seats! I am really struggling to wrap my head around this and make a decision.

First I've seen of that... There are several threads posted here about those who put in custom orders and ended up getting a car delivered with the power seats or liftgate and just given a credit. I was going to do the order thing until I read that. The one I found was very low mileage. The only thing I overlooked was that XM radio is an option not included in the "premium package."

Just curious. Does it have mechanical seats with the adjuster bar under the seat front? Or does it have electric adjusters on the side of the seat with no memory? My C Class passenger seat doesn’t have memory and the adjuster is on the side of the seat instead of the door. The last Mercedes I’ve seen with mechanical seats was a W203 C230 20 years ago.

I’m with the rest of the people who say they wouldn’t buy it. A work or a hunting truck with mechanical seats - OK. A personal luxury car with mechanical seats - no way. Keep looking. Some one has that same car with power memory seats.

I’ve been a Toyota owner for years, loved my hybrid RAV4. One of the only reason for my GLB35 was the power seats!

I am with you there. Long time Toyota owner, however when RAV4 cost $40k plus you start looking somewhere else.

To my knowledge it's completely manual. The bar underneath and type of handle to adjust the back portion according the sales guys. My C63 has "power seats" but not "full power seats" meaning I have the adjustment on the side of the seat (which is terrible BTW. Try to adjust that with a watch on your left wrist and door shut) and the bar underneath to slide it back and forth.

It's completly manual. About 70% of GLBs built in the last few months have manual seats... certain weeks of production had the parts for power seats but most didn't.

2021 Glb35 AMG (2013 GLK 350)
Last summer RAV 4 prime was $53K with $10K dealer markup and it was more expensive than X3 hybrid that was $50K with $2.5K discount...Toyota wasn't even letting test drives... I got the GLB35 with 6% discount close to Rav 4 price.... Similarly I bought my GLK 350 with V6 as used lease return which was cheaper than a used Forrester XT, but that was a bargain of the century at $24K compared to crazy market today...GLK didn't have the GLB electronics, but still it has the power seats and no quality issues for 5 years that I owned it... I can recommend vlc92189 to check used GLB's or maybe used/new GLC 300's that has power seats.

I was at my dealer a few months ago and noticed credit on the window stickers of several GLB's for power seats & power liftgate being omitted.

Talked to a sales person, and he said that the option COULD NOT be installed at a later date. Keep that in mind. It would be a deal breaker for me without those options. Wonder if it's the same way in Europe or are we taking the brunt of the chip shortage?

Just the bar under the seat. No power anywhere with the seats.

My first Volvo had manual adjustments for back and forth, up and down, tilt, etc. it broke after awhile because husband and I frequently changed places to drive, therefore wearing the little cogs out. We actually learned how to replace the pieces. Frequency of use was not our friend.

It's not happening in Europe (at least to the extent) becaues the vast majority of GLBs there are specified with manual seats. Power seats are not a common option. That being said, they are taking just as much damage from the chip shortage as we are.

Picked up a brand new 2022 loaner from the dealer yesterday. Both driver and passenger seats are manual, except for lumbar support. The car has automatic lift gate, panoramic roof, park assist cameras and ambient lighting. I do not know who decided to take out power seats instead of other options, but it makes no sense to me. I would rather have power seats and memory and live without park assist, ambient lighting and pano roof.

I was at my dealer about 3 weeks ago and saw some new GLB250;'s unloading. They all had the power lift gate but manual seats. I ordered a 2023 GLB250 loaded. Two weeks later I was informed that the order was to be built with all options and only the ventilated seats could not be had. That is the first time I have seen this option being deleted. I can live with that as long as my other items are there.

We got the GLB35 a few weeks ago and it had power seats/lift gate. We ordered last September and after a 9 month wait, if it came in with manual seats my wife would have lost her ****. 😂

From what I read on this forum GLB35 did not suffer from chip shortages as much as GLB250 (like power seats and power lift gate). I think it is still mainly limited to AR Navigation.

We were not able to get the wireless charging or the dash cam due to shortages, plus we had to get the LITE package for a few things (I don’t remember which), so I think 4-5 of our options were changed/unavailable. First world problems, obviously, but our GLB35 build was definitely materially impacted.
