I know its late but my GLC was off the ship in Long Beach on 06/06 (AM) and released by custom on 06/07 (PM) but since then it have been waiting for carrier to pick it up (an update from dealer).
Any ideas on how much time it takes from custom release to carrier pickup ? I might be asking it a lot sooner but I am just getting more impatient now for it.

Jay your dealer can look in the system to see when carrier picks it up at the VPC. Mine came in Long Beach on 5-30 released to carrier and picked up on 6-2 and it didn't get to Buena Park dealer till Monday 6-6.

My GLC 300 4matic will arrive at Long Beach 6/13 0700. on the Glorious Ace. Does anyone know approx. how long it will take to get to the Bay Area and what does the dealer prep entail before I can pick up? My first time ordering a new car with all the options I wanted. Any suggestions inthe process I should go through before I accept? I ordered a Diamond silver with black nappa and everything except the air suspension & HUD.

John 1946 when it gets off the boat it goes to the Mercedes vehicle prep center in Long Beach. It should be released to a carrier within a couple days then it's on the way to your dealer. The dealer also has to prep the vehicle when they receive it which is taking all the tape and foam protection off & washing. I would think you should see it about a week after arrival at Long Beach

Does anyone know how long it takes from the time the car clears customs in Baltimore to make ready and ship to North Jersey? I have been following our new 2016 GLC 300 4 Matic? Been told that it could take a week to 10 days but no commitment from the dealer yet on an arrival window.

It took about a week from port arrival until arrival in Cincinnati. I would think for Jersey it would be a little quicker but sometimes there are delays in customs so it can be hard to predict. I wouldn't expect the dealer to commit to a specific date until after it's on the truck and ready to go.

My GLC Docked in Long Beach 7/13 and I received 7/19 in the Bay Area. My dealer also said 10 days. They all say 10 days because its the standard line. My car is great.

Thanks everyone for the update I just got the email that the car will be in NJ by weeks end so about 3 days from clearing custom's. Can't wait to pick it up!!

Ordered mine and will be building on 7-7! MB having issues with black ash wood and HUD parts so had to settle.

My GLC docked 2 hours away a month ago. They say it is a 2017 and I have to wait until all 2016s are out before mine gets released. I ordered a 2016. The dealership said 90 days. It has already been 140 days. No date given still. 3 months wait was fine. But now we are looking at 6.? Maybe more? Would have just found one somewhere had we known it would take this long. Don't get me wrong, I am glad it is supposedly a 2017 when I ordered a 2016. 2 hours away and has been there for a month. Any thoughts?

Talk to the sales manager. Talk to MBUSA. It sounds like you're being jacked around - I'd be spitting fire by now.

If it's a 2017 they may not be able to release it until 8/1, I think that's the official date of release. But if they swapped you to a '17, do you know what options/packages it has? The available combinations have changed. Has the dealer shared the vehicle spec sheet with you (includes the VIN)?

No. He just told me there were no changes in the year models so it wouldn't matter. This whole ordeal has been terrible. The sales guy to the sales manager. I ordered this car at the dealership because I wanted the 4 matic and they didn't have any on the lot. So after I got home, had worked the deal, and reviewing the deal with my wife, I noticed it did not say AWD or 4 Matic anywhere. So I call them back, this IS a 4 matic right? I did specify this was my main reason for ordering. The sales guy says yea it is for sure a 4 Matic. I say well I do not see it anywhere on the sheet. He says, oh, let me check.. Yea, we left that off it will be 2 grand more. But you don't need to come back in, we will handle it... So not only has it taken this long, but I am not very confident we will get exactly what was ordered. I am extremely frustrated with this dealership. I do not have a spec sheet, the VIN the sales guy gave me doesn't come up on the site, nothing. I will call the sales manager tomorrow though, thanks for the reply. I didn't think about contacting MB USA. Thanks for that thought as well.

Wow you are nicer than me. I would be making a scene at MB because seems like you are getting screwed. I heard that 2017 weren't being built to end of July. I would make some calls and get the true answers. Why would they build a car but hold onto it instead of collecting their money. Good luck and keep us posted.

Thank you. Nothing is adding up with this whole deal. I will update after I call the manager and I am definitely going to try MB USA as well. Thanks for the reply. It definitely feels like I'm getting screwed. I agree.

You really getting screwed. Sounds like the dealer gave your original order to someone else and is stalling you. You had a contract! You can sue for over the $5K and get MB to punish the dealership. John1946
