Mine was released Baltimore VPC on Friday and made it to the dealer (40 minutes away) Tuesday morning. So hopefully you don't have long to wait!

I was told today by my dealer that my GLC has a build date of 8/18 established, which should easily allow my desired October 7th delivery date (which will be the launch date of a driving tour, with friends, from the mid-Atlantic to Texas and NM and home, about 4,250 miles in all). The car has about every option you can add except for the paint (Polar White) and other appearance add-ons, optional wheels, and a pano roof. I managed to keep HUD (but lost Burl Walnut trim when it became "not available currently"). Now to start reading the owner's manual so I can have a hope of enjoying all its features--and safety benefits. (This is our first Mercedes after 44 years of driving Saabs; that I have down pat.) Wish me luck.

Everyone,

I need your opinion on my current situation. I ordered my car back in February and had a dealership, wilsonville Mercedes, sold the car from Under me. I now have another pending order with a Portland dealership. Filled out all the paperwork and gave them my credit card for $1k down (never charge my card). SA told me my car when into production two weeks ago but he does not have a production number. Is this correct? Thanks

Sorry to hear about your first experience and hope this time it goes better.
I'll be interested in other responses, but this does not sound right to me. Once in production, it's my understanding that numbers/info should be readily available. Maybe it's just that the SA doesn't know what they're doing, but I would escalate this up the ladder and demand some answers before you're left holding the bag again in a couple of months.

First, get the spec sheet for the car from the SA. He should be able to email it to you (if not, escalate, escalate, escalate!).

The VIN will be on the sheet. Go to:

under TRACK AND TRACE click on ALL USERS.

Enter the VIN in the CARGO ID field. Click TRACK. This will show you the name of the ship and whether it has docked/unloaded.

There's several tracking sites where you can track the ship's location if en route. Try https://www.vesselfinder.com

If it is coming up with no information, either (a) it's not really "on the water" yet and your SA is misinforming you or (b) perhaps you're not in the US and they use a different shipper? I'm pretty sure everything into Baltimore and Long Beach uses Wallenius.

Have been driving my GLC for a little over a month and the more I drive it, the more I love the car. It was worth the 12 wk. wait. (BTW, if you know the name of your ship coming out of Germany, go on the WEB and find ship locator and you can follow the ships progress to your port of delivery. Mine was Long Beach for the Bay Area. It runs great, everything works as advertised. I have all options except for HUD, air suspension, running boards & night package. Diamond Silver with Black Designo, 19 wheels. So, for those waiting, you won't be disappointed.John1946

Found out from my SA today my car is on the Garnet Ace. Anyone has access to vessel tracker can let me know when the ship is located at and when it will arrives in long beach CA. Thanks

Garnet Ace is currently in Newark NJ. So a while to get through Panama and on to Long Beach. I didn't see any info here on projected future ports but if you go to the logistics site and enter your VIN (see instructions on my post #312 in this thread) they may list a projection.

For some strange reason, I can't locate the vessel using the VIN and the Limk you sent me.

Thanks for the information on current location of the garnet ace. Guess it will take a couple of more weeks before the vessel will get to the west cost.

Production Date: 20/July
Shipped from Bremmerhaven: 6/August (Ship Morning Conductor currently off Portugal)
ETA in Melbourne 11/September - which seems odd, should go to Port Kembla as the boat does.
Delivery will be early October I've been told. If all goes well, 4 months.
