Production to Delivery?
#81
Received an email from the dealership stating my car is in production with a PO number. What is the significant of this number? Is there a place I can look up to see what stage the car is in?
Thanks.
Thanks.

The car is fantastic. Unfortunately, it is cold and rainy here in Dallas. Took delivery of the car in the dealers parking garage. Not great lighting. Will post pictures asap.

It's the ID number for the Personal Order. With that number the dealer is able to get into the MB System (NetStar) to check on the status of your car. Unfortunately MB doesn't allow us to look it up online at this time.. I did see an interview with an Exec from MB that said in the future they do want to allow customers to follow cars on their own.. So maybe they are working on adding that to the Webste or app in the future. How long, nobody knows.

Here some pics now that the car is home. I will try tomorrow to get some good pics outside after the weather clears.

Delay at Port
My GLC is stuck at the port in Germany waiting to get assigned to a ship. It finished production 2/1. Anyone know what's going on? This isn't another longshoremen strike? Or, there must be ton of GLC's in a long queue waiting for ship delivery to the U.S.

Have you searched using the VIN
Hi DuchessMB, if you can get a VIN from the dealer you may be able to find the vessel your car is booked onto. Go to http://www.2wglobal.com/ use track and trace, put the VIN into the cargo id and it should tell you the ship's name. Then go to http://www.marinetraffic.com and search for the ship's location and destination details. ![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
Mine was booked onto the ship 4th Jan,built 7th Jan and vessel departed on 17th.

Call your dealer and ask what ship your car is being shipped on. MB uses multiple shipping lines. If it is on a Wallenius Willhensen ship you can enter your Vin and track, otherwise you will need to track ship using vessel tracker, fleetmon, or marine traffic. You can also view the ship schedule if you know the ships owner. You can look it up on their website. If you find out the ships name and port your car is going toI can tell you the owner of ship and expected date of arrival.

What is the time spent on the actual assembly line? I think the schedule is 10 days but I thought I read it takes about 24 hours for a build which seems too short of a time period.

I am sure it has been birthed!!! I had an original build date of Feb 30 and mine came out on the 27th. I was shocked how fast production was. Your dealer should be able to tell you where they are at and give you your VIN "birth certificate"
