Production to Delivery?

I checked with the dealer early yesterday but he said it was still unassigned. Checked the WW site this morning and not found. He is supposed to let me know when it shows up as assigned but somehow I doubt that will happen.

I would call dealer again today. You are paying a lot of money for a car and they depend on you to give them a good review after the sale. When my car was delivered. They went over the survey I was going to get in the mail. Besides, it only takes about 2 minutes for them to look in net star. My SA was checking even on the weekend!

I'll check with him again next week...I don't really NEED to know the exact status, it's only to satisfy my curiosity. I don't want to be that PITA customer who badgers them for info all the time although to your point, I shouldn't even have the opportunity to be that customer if they remain proactive. It's very possible it hasn't been assigned to the ship yet so he hasn't updated me (I asked to let me know when it is assigned).

My SA was very proactive. He was great to work with. I hope you have the same. He has called me three times since we got the car to check on us and to see if we needed help on anything or further lessons on how things work.

Just got an update on my actual dates and my car is now in B8, Assigned Ship! The dealer doesn't have the ship name yet. So here is how my car went:
B5: 2/23 produced (original date was 2/25)
B6: 2/24 factory invoiced
B7: 2/25 At Port, no ship assigned
B8: 3/2 At Port, ship assigned
I'll find out the start of next week the actual ship name. That's all that's showing right now.

Hopefully, she will be on a ship this week and you will have her by the end of the month.

You can check the SIS for the Bremerhaven port. Webapps.dbh.de. Multiple ships to Baltimore this week including several today..

Well, as of this morning the VIN still doesn't come up on the WW site so either it's on another carrier or it's still awaiting assignment. I don't want to be constantly bugging the dealer guy so I'll check in with him next week if I don't see anything or hear from him before then.

They have 2 ships leaving on the 9th and I would think ours will be on those. Was told those 2 ships should have MBs on them... So check back with dealer end of week maybe Friday

The downside of Euro Delivery is that you "get" to wait twice. What's worse is that when the car returns stateside for the "second" delivery, Customs can get hold of it and take as much time as they want with it.

Yeah, that's why I nixed the ED...didn't want to wait after the fact. I thought maybe next time I'll do that and schedule an extended Euro trip so part of the wait will be taken up by vacation time

It is definitely worth the wait. I have a good feeling your car will be on a ship this week. WW does not always update with VIN until the ship leaves port. If your car is on another ship line like mine was, the dealer gave me the name. I found out the day after it left port. The wait is frustrating.

2008 C300, 2016 GLC 300 AWD on order
Production/European Delivery
Thanks to all for the build code information, I've asked my dealer for the status of the GLC.
We ordered ours 12/11/15, for factory pickup on 4/7/16. This dealer seems a bit confused by the process, insisting that 'everything will come from MBUSA', which wasn't the case when we picked up our 2008 C300 (ordered from another dealer), and isn't what all the communications from MBUSA say. I've provided the pre-registration sheet, and my passport, and hope they figure this out soon! I do have my confirmation from MB, which shows the delivery date, so keeping my fingers crossed we don't have to juggle our travel!
By the way, although it doesn't show on the web site as of today (3/9/16) MB has several new options for hotels in Switzerland and in Strasbourg, France, and you can put together your own multi-day package (you don't have to do a one-, three- or five-night deal).

It's a tough task getting the forum going and every new voice helps.
Enjoy your new car and the ED!
