Not sure what kind of phone you have, but when odd niggles come up, often a simple phone reboot solves little issues. Give it a try.

No it didn't work

Maybe because the iPhone memory of 128gb is too much for the car to handle

Drove the car in sport+ today.
The gear changes were very abrupt and jerky especially on the downshifts.

Maybe I'm expecting too much since I'm used to driving a dual clutch auto.

Its actually designed that way. One of the engineers was interviewed in some mag.. he said that they did this on purpose to make it feel more aggressive. He said everything in s+ is designed to feel very raw. from fuel mixture to allowing the engine to go to and hold redline, to a super tight suspension (with airmatic)

Walk through any parking lot in a European ski resort and probably 70% of the cars have the wipers flipped out to prevent freezing to the windshield. So, is this a design flaw? If not, maybe Mercedes should've designed in deicers (heating element in glass) under the wipers like Subaru, for example.

I thought so too. But just flip them up. they are designed to go 90. it will rub the hood a tiny bit, but then actually pivot out of the way go and and stay all the way up.

I figured it was standard??? Or maybe my GLC, having been built in late November, has some different features than earlier builds???

The sloppy workmanship that GLCer shared is disgraceful; should never have made it to the dealer in that shape. I would insist it gets corrected.

interesting. yes, mine says "acoustic glass" as well.

It's not a sport or pleasant smooth shift change but rather jerky and clunky. It seems the gearbox is delaying shifts for a second

Any way of activating the reverse camera whist parking "without" putting into reverse.
In my work bay I look for a landmark in the camera to know when I am actually in the correct position.

I don't believe there is.

Here in Canada, when I configure the pricing for the new GLC, there is an optional equipment "Security Safety Glass with Acoustic Foil for Noise Reduction" @ $225.00.

Is that the same in the US?

Not sure. We just received our GLC and it came with the Acoustic Glass as standard.

It sounds like MBUSA is trying to avoid the mess they have with wind noise on the W205 models. Excessive wind noise has been a common complaint of C300 and C400 drivers. It appears that after a year of claiming wind noise is a normal design characteristic, MB is finally owing up to the problem for what it really is; a design flaw. Many believe the acoustic glass is not the real answer, which MB is supposed to be working on, but in many cases it does help to decrease wind noise. My C300 is at he dealer now waiting for acoustic glass to arrive (back ordered). It is also there to have all pistons replaced, another early W205 issue.

If you got a GLC300 without acoustic glass, you might want to ask your dealer to get you some if wind noise is a problem. Good to hear MBUSA is making the acoustic glass standard. Good move.

I just checked our GLC300 and acoustic glass is installed on drivers and front passenger side, and was not on the option list. Didn't notice earlier. Still, I will probably install aftermarket acoustic panels in the doors at some point to damp it further. It feels to me that certain frequencies are leaking in a lot while some other frequencies are well damped, this probably explains why sometimes I feel it is very quiet but sometimes as if the doors and windows are not damped or isolating at all.

Just found another small niggle.. but really nitpicking.

The Burmester audio subwoofers are installed in the front foot-well/dash area instead of the doors. I was in the passenger seat yesterday with loud pop music on, I could feel the bass pounding/vibrating on my feet, quite distracting actually.

Had they put the subwoofer in the door, the amount of people complaining their door buzzed or rattled would astronomical. Be grateful they put it where they put it.

Wind noise update.

So I went to the dealer today. They said the wind noise is definitely the issue in the W205 and the one sales guy says he's heard it on the GLC but because the GLC was just launched recently there are not many around.
The workshop manager said they first try readjusting the doors and windows but the sales guy says he thinks it's the mirrors.
Acoustic glass doesn't solve the issue.

The sad thing is that MB is aware of the problem with no firm solution. They knew about it with the w205 but let it persist in the GLC. This is pathetic.

Maybe there's something to getting a little older. My ears must not be as sensitive anymore. We have a 2016 GLC300 and 2016 C300 Sport, neither of which exhibit unusually louder wind news than any of our previous MB cars.

RB's ears work for MB

Wind noise is absolutely an issue on the GLC and C class. The first C300 and GLC300 I drove exhibited very similar noise characteristics, above average wind intrusion. However, last week I had a C300 loaner vehicle that seemed quieter and had somewhere on the level of "normal" wind noise. Unfortunately, I didn't investigate the window glass too much so I'm not sure if it had the updated acoustic glass installed.

I suspect the noise issue is coming from the mirrors too. I wonder if the new E-class will be plagued by similar complaints? Hopefully not!

They don't work for MB, but clearly, they do work well for me! LOL. Seriously though, I've had plenty of passengers in both cars and people often comment about how quiet they are. Maybe I'm just lucky.

Our new GLC is extremely quiet too, so maybe the acoustic glass does help.

A gaggle of MB's
"Plaqued by complaints" - interesting comment - but frankly not one I have heard from my customers - especially those that have traded from other brands into their 1st Mercedes.

My comment - with the dramatically lower cabin noise - especially as compared to other brand SUV's - yes, you will notice "what's left" in noise more...
