Hi from Land Down Under - Australia

Would be interesting to see return trip on economy ?
Not sure what economy would be if I ran at 80kph or 100kph, either way I think I would go mad !
Only wish we could travel at 130 - 150kph, car is so good with cruise control and all built in safety features.
Years of driving a Range Rover Sport in the Eastern suburbs taught me about knowing the width of my car within a few mm and of course, road rage!
Took a few years living in Palm Beach to cure it.
I have been regularly driving down to the NSW border (with vic) to see my folks and have just started seeing sub 6l/100km as the car has run in.
The driver assist is just amazing on the Hume. A recent test by wheels just don't get it. It isn't there to take autonomous control but to help keep the car in the lane and reduce a whole lot of driving fatigue. That, with the amazing seats, make it by far the best long distance tourer I have ever driven on Australian roads.
cheers,
Anthony

Just returned from Syd to Melb.
Return trip on economy setting.
Diesel, 250d, with 27000km on the clock in 12 months.
863.5km. Travel time 8.50 hrs
Range left in tank 357km. !,!
5.9l/100km, ave 97kph, sitting on 110kmp on freeway.
So in therory, car could travel 1220 km to empty !
Again very happy with performance and cruise control.

Have been away, so this will be first real drive.
Very excited, will post pics soon.
Maybe side by side with Coupe &. Wagon ........
The Best of Mercedes & AMG

We selected non metallic, Polar White.
Duco treated by Auto Alchemy in Melbourne, he has treated all our cars now!
My Grey one just ticked over 27000km in 12 months, must slow down.....
The Polar White looks great.
We have a Calcite white C Class, as Calcite is slightly off white it never shines quite as well as the polar or arctic whites.

Pricing is rumored to be 5K above the equivalent VW Amarok.
Hopefully, the X-Class will be much better than the Navara it is based on. The Nissan Navara is a horrible vehicle to drive with really crappy steering that needs continual adjustments at highway speeds. We have a current model Navara at work and most staff prefer driving a Ford Ranger or VW Amarok.

If I was ordering them again I'd leave them off. They're of no practical use. You don't need them to step into the car, unlike taller cars, and they just get in the way. I can't see that they provide much body protection.

Otherwise just for looks

looks like might be able to change myself, otherwise will get quote for removal and fitting.

I suppose being built nearly 3 months ago the battery will drain and pre delivery would maybe only give it quick charge, maybe ! Now I know the alternator will not be working overtime to restore the battery. This maybe worth all new owners checking and plaing on charge overnight. I used CTEK MXS 5.0 unit to do this. on a scale of 1 to 7 it first registered at 3; 4 is ready to use and 7 is fully charged. So in reality the battery was undercharged when issued.
