GLC Availability thru end-May - and launch for 2017 GLC's
As of today ... what production and availability looks like:
1) As of today - GLC production has been set thru end-May
2) As of today - that production has been allocated to each dealer - meaning every dealer knows for GLC - how many they get - and when they will be produced thru end-May
3) As of today - April 1st-2nd-3rd decades are "Yellow" meaning changes can be requested - that does not mean requested changes for tight options like Lighting Package or Designo interiors will be accepted - it means changes can be requested.
1st decade April "Yellow" will red-line soon - count those minutes - and each successive April 2nd/3rd decade will red-line successively in week/10-day interval.
Frankly - total April production # is NOT overwhelming
4) As of today - May production - 1st/2nd/3rd decade #'s are set - frankly total May production is NOT overwhelming either
5) As of today - JUNE PRODUCTION 2016 GLC's has NOT been set - and frankly dealers CANNOT place 2016 GLC orders for June production at this moment. The configure screen has been closed.
Dealer can request changes to their existing order - Yellow or Green - but they cannot place NEW ORDERS FOR JUNE FOR 2016 GLC.
If you are thinking about a 2016 GLC - I suggest you start your work with your dealer now.
Although no announcement has been made - from deduction it appears 2017 GLC's could go into production in Germany for June - frankly a bit un naturally early - and reasonably for mid/end August US launch.
Just trying to be helpful - frankly GLC's are awesome - and will remain very tight from what I see - if I was to advise as a friend - one strategy is plan/build your "Perfect GLC" and be happy. My daughter moved from her loaded 15 E350 sedan (Designo, etc) to her plan/build GLC - 1st time she's been well under $50K - her choice because she like the "look" - and she's very happy...
Keep the beat !

Hi, Fabbrisd1.
Please excuse my ignorance about how car manufacturers operate. Do you mean that they will end 2016 model production in June, and that afterward, you can only order 2017s? Do you have any insight about what changes they will make for 2017 GLCs?

Hello, got a quick question want to ask.
As of last Sunday, my sales guy told me that my GLC was in status B3 NO CHANGES POSSIBLE in NetStar system.
Because I was thinking to add Pana roof on my GLC order, but sales guy said it's too late.
However from your message below, looks like I still can make changes?! Can you kindly clarify?
Thanks!

I am looking at doing European Delivery on a GLC later this summer/fall and my dealer said they sent out an updated schedule this morning that showed a late August timeframe for deliveries of the 2017's.
The order bank isn't open yet (hopefully within the next week or two), so they don't have any information on any changes between the 2016 and 2017 models yet. I/they are not expecting much to change (hopefully they will at least allow for non-black heated steering wheels on the 2017).
It also sounds like the AMG43 model will be in the Dec/Jan timeframe.

2016 GLC 300; 2019 E53 Sedan
A few points I can add that might be helpful:
lin -- it sounds like your order has gone to "red" meaning its literally too late to make changes as the factory component inventory needs to be physically placed to assemble your car. So that probably means your car is being manufactured at any moment or at least very soon.
Also, as to a general response, the Sales Manager at my dealership told me that 2016 GLC orders closed last Friday? We were lucky in that we were able to build a 2016 yesterday (Monday) off an allocation for a Red/Beige leather car that our dealer had to swap for. Apparently red is very popular right now and it is difficult if not impossible to configure a car with the Interior package unless it is already allocated that way.

He even claims that even a Diesel will be available for US at the end of September on the European Delivery Program. But the DOG states just GLC300 and GLC300 4M with Launch date - Aug. 2016.

My dealer shared with me Dealer Ordering Guide of the 2017 GLC (04/01/16 release 1). He claims "...Order Bank will open up the end of this month...", which is April.

The file should be attached in ZIPed format, otherwise it's too big for upload.

Thanks Alex!
Doesn't look like too many changes for the 2017.
Here are some of the things I noticed:
1. Added one exterior color (Brilliant Blue) and one interior color (Saddle Brown, which was on the First Edition, but I still think Espresso looks much nicer)
2. Completely changed the option package structure, including adding Air Balance and Dynamic LED Headlamps in with the Driver Assistance Package (can also get LEDs without them being Dynamic)
3. Heated/Ventilated seats are now not part of the packages
4. Added an Off-Road Engineering package, although it still isn't the same as the European off-road package (only raises the vehicle 0.79 inches when combined with Air Body Control vs 2 inches on the European package)
5. The Sport Package no longer mentions different brakes
6. Still no option for a heated steering wheel on non-black interiors

Just wanted to clarify on #5 above...last year's ordering guide never mentioned different brakes either, but they are mentioned on the build website.
Also, all the dimensions/specs are exactly the same.

Correction: available with 115, silk beige MBTex. I think the limitation is heated steering wheel is only available with interiors that use standard black steering wheel.

My dealer told me no CarPlay for 2017. Also, no mention of CarPlay for 2018 either. I've been holding off on purchasing the GLC300 waiting for the diesel version which is coming out later this year, but I don't think I can wait for CarPlay. My Lexus has143k miles.
