Pricing, what discount you got of your GLC?
#51
I got my invoice price from Consumer Reports. Then I added the extras I wanted to that price.
MSRP/sticker was 47,500
I paid 41,500 (which was 500 over my target price of 41)
This was the first price they gave me. In other words, I could have prolly shaved another 1k off minimum. But I was so shocked and pleased that they started so low, I completely relaxed and did not bother to negotiate further.
This was Mercedes Benz of Tampa.
I have a 2016 GLC with panoramic roof, Burmester, multimedia package, sport package, etc. The only thing I wish it had is ventilated seats (it does have heated seats).

I haven't ordered yet, still trying to decide what I want, but I was quoted 8.8% off MSRP on a 2017 GLC. This was via email without yet even speaking to a sales rep.

Curious what kind of additional fee did they tag on.

I'm a new member here and new to Mercedes. This is an awesome forum with plenty of useful information. Thank you every one for your collaboration that help newbies like me. I live in Chicago and I got 7% off MSRP on a 2017 GLC300 4Matic Selenite Grey. Apparently, it is hard to get anywhere close to 10% off in Illinois. The salesman was honest (atleast that's what I thought) and showed me all the sales in the last quarter and the max anyone managed to get is 4%. I am happy with it though, as I was able to find the vehicle of my color and configuration in stock.

GLC Build... Help needed
Hello all. I'm new to this whole forum thing, and I have no experience in building a car.
I have been following you all for a couple of weeks now and have received great info. Thanks!
Before I had decided on making GLC300 my choice, I had a general conversation with a salesperson. I was informed that I could build one to my liking with a nonrefundable deposit of $2000.
Is $2000 average or too much to put down on a build?
Nonrefundable?! I can't imagine putting money down and it being nonrefundable if I decide to go elsewhere if I have yet signed on the dotted line.
Help please.
Enlighten me!

WOW...and NO! Run, don't walk, away from that dealership (or minimally from that sales rep)!
Go to mbusa.com and you can build out the vehicle, although I don't think the build program on the MB site reflect the 2017 packaging (I could be wrong on that).
THEN you can go see the dealer with full info at your fingertips.

$2000 is more than the typical $500. HOWEVER, it should NEVER be non-refundable.

Thanks so much! I felt like $2000 was excessive.
the salesperson even put this information in a text message.
I will definitely go to the website. I had to ask because I could not find anything that gave me the amount of deposit on a build.

Thank you!
this is probably why I have yet gone back to try to negotiate.
$2000 just didn't sit well with me.
thank you so much

So $500 is the average deposit and it's refundable. That's so much better than $2000.
I just could not find this information anywhere.
thank you!

It's totally up to the discretion of the dealer. Our dealer asked for $2000, which we had no problem with. Since it was refundable, I did not find that unreasonable, since it was conceivable that we could order the car and decide not to take it. The deposit is a sign of good faith. Ours was a pricey build, and the dealer has the exposure of possibly ending up with a car that might be hard to move if the potential buyer decides to walk.

During my search for my GLC 300 I was told at one dealership that a $500 deposit applied which was only refundable when they sold the car. My final choice dealership advised $1000 deposit which was fully refundable and not contingent on selling the car. Seems each dealer has their own deposit requirements. I would be wary of any nonrefundable deposit as a means to lock you into a purchase.
