Way to go Mercedes!
Most of you will be happy to know that the new GLC, has been included in Consumer Reports 2017 10 most reliable cars list. That's a HUGE deal. Keep kicking butt MB! The GLK did remarkably well too.

I'm not surprised that the GLC did well due to the fact that the GLK was a good performer and came out of the same plant.
At the same time, I'm surprised that it did well because the C class, (which is practically the same car), had a rough release. But that came from the Alabama plant.

Considering the C class is similar in design and shares many components with the GLC, the rankings highlight the disparity in manufacturing quality between the Bremen and Alabama.

Clearly there is bias and ignorance when it comes to people that review cars. One should realize that MOST of the people that review cars are journalists first, and "car people" second. Reviewing and rating cars is there job, not their obligation.
My W204 is a solid car and IMO the competition it had was garbage. With that being said, the W205 is absolutely light years ahead, whilst the competition has only become worse.
Sorry for the rant lol. My advise: Go drive the car on your own, and form your own opinion.

they don't MANUFACTURE them in the plants, they ASSEMBLE them. So no, it doesn't highlight that at all. What it does highlight is how you should take reviews with a grain of salt. They are essentially the same vehicles, yet with vastly different "ratings"

To move this thread in a different direction, I want to report that my GLC, which I took delivery of on 10/7 and drove almost 5,000 miles on a just completed trip, had no issues: no chattering wipers or squealing brakes, no glass distortion, nothing to concern me. (I accepted the dealer's explanation that two "unprompted" wiper sweeps were generated by dust or some such on the windshield.) The trip involved a large amount of highway driving, much of it in Texas and NM, and with four adults in the car (and lots of luggage) my milage averaged about 27.5 mpg. My conclusion: Way to go, Mercedes!

The wipers are not meant to be left in the auto position when it is not raining. The shade from trees can trick the sensor into wiping when there is no rain, which can cause the blades to scratch the glass if there are contaminants. Just a little FYI. Glad you're happy with your car!

And this is with cars like the Lexus NX, Acura RDX, and Infiniti QX50 in consideration. The GLC had best in class dependability for the first model year! I had a feeling it was going to do fantastic. If only the C class had that graceful of a lauch. Damn you Vance, Alabama!!!

They haven't been that bad either. The C was a brand new car in a brand new plant. Very hard for any automaker to pull off and even still the issues were more with fit and finish, not mechanical which would have been engineering not the manufacturing process. Vance has been putting their SUVs together for years and years now.

I was just going to say the same thing.. The electronics in the Alabama built C were not very good. There was also a wrist pin issue on some of the engines.
