GLC 43 AMG - No heated steering wheel option in the UK?

Any forum members in the UK who have a GLC have a heated steering wheel? I've just ordered the GLC 43 and I can't find it as an option anywhere in the brochure. So, I asked my dealer and he said that a heated steering wheel is not available for this model. My thought - No heated steering wheel option on a luxury SUV?? Can this be right??

Can anyone shed any light on this?

Thanks in advance!

No light to shed - you are correct.
All down to MB UK as to how they spec and what options are offered.

I think they've assumed that the UK isn't cold enough!

While heated steering wheel is really nice but it will lose the flat bottom and AMG logo.

Also in UK (when I bought GLC250d in September) - you can't get

a) rear heated seats
b) Acoustic front glass
c) Garage door opener in rear-view-mirror
d) 581 enhanced air-conditioning
e) Ventilated front seats
f) Nappa leather (maybe you can get this on GLC43)
g) TV
h) Residual heat system that is part of (d) and provides continued heat after engine off
i) Comfort Phone

Needless to say (b) and (c) are now on mine. (a) will be if wiring looms become available). I have the looms for (g), and probably I will do (i) as I want a charging cradle with use of external aerial. I may do (h) or (d) as most of D is there already as I have the head-up display - although i'll have to change the centre console for the blower for the rear.

So the you can't get a heated flat-bottomed steering wheel then? Again, seems odd.

Yes, it's very odd.
I was kind of disappointed a little at first but for the last few days, the temperature around here has dropped to around freezing and below freezing mark, I am glad that I have this feature.
It feels so nice when you hold on the steering wheel.

I got the heated steering wheel option for my GLC43 AMG Coupe, but I actually like the steering wheel without the heated option. Looks better in my option.

Changing in March from an LR Discovery sport to an AMG43 and disappointed no heated steering wheels, as it is only a wire surely it could be formed for the flat part of steering wheel!.

I was told the heated steering wheel will be the same design as the AMG steering wheel.

Like in the picture.

I think you've been lied to. Heated steering wheel is only available in the round form

My salesman told me the steering wheel doesn't change with the heated option. Also, another person at another dealership said the same thing. She quoted I don't think so. Heated steering wheel is often blocked by a wood wheel or a sport wheel but I do not see that limitation on the GLC43.

I noticed that my GLC 43 (here in the US), which does NOT have heating capability does not have a flat bottom, could this be due to that I have Premium 3 pkg and Parkign Assistance pkg?

Could anyone please help answer this? I have not had a chance to ask my SA yet, but I feel that those on this forum are more knowledgeable. TIA.

Wow, your steering wheel should be the AMG flat bottom steering wheel. Did the factory make a mistake on your build? You should had gotten the steering wheel that's in the picture.

In the UK it is called Homelink and it is a button located on the rear view mirror that can be programmed to some but not all electric gates / garage doors in order that you can press it to open and close them. I have it on my discovery sport and is really useful as you don't have to search for the remote.

That looks hideous. I'd wear gloves for five minutes if it is that cold

Hi

No haven't ordered it with my GLC, have it on my discovery sport, not sure if available on Merc. If it is available you have a different rear view mirror fitted with the buttons built in, hope this explains things.
