GLC43 AMG abnormal down shifting

Just picked up the car last week and today I was manually downshifting using
the paddles and discovered when downshifting from 5th to 4th, I experienced
a somewhat violent and loud downshift. It repeats at various speeds but only
going down into 4th. Quite alarming and have any appt. to get it checked. Anyone experience this type of event?

If you've only just got it, you need to follow the breakin routine. No manual downshifts, stay in comfort for 1000 miles, no revving over 3000 and stay below 85 mph.

exactly.. read the manual

1000 miles (1500km). It'll pass faster than you think.

Sorry, I must call BS on the break-in scolding.

If it shifts roughly after the first 20-50miles of driving then no amount of *****-foot break-in will fix that problem. A rough shifting pattern may be a characteristic or it may be a malfunction. You should take it in for service.

wasn't scolding. Just stating that you shouldnt down shift during the break in period.

Whilst it could, could it not also be that it is still learning? I'm not technically familiar with the 9G gearbox but I've had some BMW ZF gearboxes in the past that were a right bugger for that.

No jongj, this is more abrupt and jarring noise. Transmissions do not learn like this, and if it was learning, it would learn in all gears, not just one.

A gaggle of MB's
If you ignore breakin... which your dealer should have clearly informed you about when moving up to your 1st AMG.....your dealer should back you up on warranty anyway...
