AMG Grille in GLC 300

New here - just purchased my first MB - 2017 GLC 300. At the dealership I asked if the AMG diamond grille could be put in the 300 - even though it looks literally identical, I was told by my salesman that they aren't a match. My question is - is that true, and if it is true, does anybody have a link to one they know will fit (from ebay or similar) - this is what the salesman suggested.

Thanks in advance!

Out of curiousity, are you look for the SUV or the coupe? I believe I've seen some members add one to the SUV, and the coupe comes with it from the factory when you pick the sport package in the US.

Here's a link I picked up from somewhere around here, but I can't make any promises on fit, since I haven't tried it.

The made in China replicas fit very good. Go for it.

AMG Diamond Grille (either the Coupé and the 43AMG one) is 100% compatible with GLC300.

There are 2 versions: one for vehicles w/360° camera and the other for vehicles without that option.
Make sure you buy the correct version and buy an original one.

https://www.kunzmann.de/shop/en/tuni...ator-grill.htm

This is the 43amg version original. But you could easily buy it from your MB dealer.

Here is a photo of my GLC250D (same as the GLC300 but diesel) with the diamond grille.

That looks so good swissynet. Do you have details on the actual installation and the difficulty of getting it done?

thanks, installation was easy for me. I gave it to my mb salesman and he had it installed before delivery

I think you need to remove the whole bumper, it's not the easiest task.

I just installed my new grille. Looks great. Got it on e-bay for $280. You do not need to remove the bumper to replace it. Took me about 1 1/2 hrs. Quality is really good and was a perfect fit except at the top where they did some extra bracing, which I took a utility knife and shaved it down and now it's perfect.

Removal of bumpers are only required for the W205 C-class cousins.

Could not get the link to work.

DSG Tuning and here is the item #112325560754

You can tell them the vent bar color, silver or black and with or without the camera. Good Luck. ps I negotiated the price a little. Total delivered was $280.

Thanks for the pictures Mitch - looks great! Are you able to provide more detailed instructions on how to get it done for Noobs like me?

The top piece and those two side air dams must be removed first. You will see the locking pins for the top piece. The air dams are a snap in piece so you push back on then to unsnap them and then remove them. Now it's time for the grille to be removed. There are three locking tabs on each side and four on the bottom. They are the color of the car/front bumper. You actually push back on the grille, it does not come forward.

Install in reverse order.

The center piece with the emblem is a twist lock. There are two tabs that lock it in from the back. Once the locking tabs are released it is a slight turn/twist to release it, you will be able to see the slots for the emblem once the grille is removed.

I hope that helps.

Just finished installing the new grill. Thanks to MITCH1975 for the helpful advice, not sure I would have figured it out otherwise. A couple of points to note:

I found the easiest way to do this was to stick a taped up flathead screwdriver through the original grill and push against the air dams. I spent a lot of time trying to finesse my way with no results.

Also, it will take some creativity since they are awkwardly shaped, but to remove the air dams, pull out on the grill slightly to get them past the cross bars and towards the center. Keep pivoting them around and eventually you'll find a position that gets them out from behind the grill.

This was the hardest part for me, but now that I know how, it's not that bad. Use a flashlight to see which of the tabs are colored, and then either with fingers or that taped up screwdriver use one hand to push the top tab away from the center, and then use your other hand to push the grill inwards. Keep that other hand pushing as you work your way down and around to keep some areas from snapping back in.

Once you've got all of the tabs released, it's pretty easy to wiggle the grill out.

It's a tight space, and I scraped my hands up a bit since there's a bit of sharp metal around, but it's doable.

What would the part name be? I am on www.mbpartsonline.com to check for the diamond grill that would fit my GLC300 but I don't see it when I search. Was just curious how much the dealership would charge vs ebay or other site.

I'm really loving the diamond grill look especially my car has the AMG body styling.

I have a white GLC300, what do you think of a matte black diamond grill ? hmm

Nothing changes, you will use the original Mercedes Logo. The logo is not included in the Grille.

I would be curious if anyone knows the part number for the AMG lower grill and spoiler, and if these can be retrofitted to a GLC300 that gets the "lesser" version of the AMG fascia with the Sport package.

GLC43 Grille

Just ordered the DSG Tuning Grille - $280 delivered vs $800+ for the factory grille - a no-brainer.

I am not sure what you meant but what do you mean by lower grill and spoiler?

I would have thought the only body part differences between a sports package and GLC43 is the front diamond grille, the chrome edged fins at the "foglamp area", rear wheel fenders, the double dual tip exhaust, gloss black window trim (even without the night package).

As far as I know, the rear spoilers are the exact same ones.

I'm referring to the grill below the main grill. And the spoiler or "lip" below that. There are two different versions and no one knows what it takes to get one over the other.
