Auto stop eco start, start fails restart on GLC43
I have a 2017 GLC43 (US build) delivered in Mar 2017. Anyone else have issues where the auto stop start sometimes doesn't start?
This is when the car is warm, you're stopped in traffic. Car auto switches off. You tip the accelerator expecting the car to burst back to life - nothing happens. You hit start - car starts in neutral. You accelerate not realizing you're in neutral and sit there revving.
Eventually 30s later when everyone around you has honked/given you the bird you get it into drive and the light turns red in front of you.
Anyone else experienced this with a GLC or GLC43?

Sounds like bad voltage regulator/capacitor used for auto start stop, parking pawl etc. would take into dealer to have interrogated.

- replace the power supply
- update the firmware
Will see if this fixes it.

2018 GLC 43 & 2014 SLK 350, gone 2016 E63 Wagon
Did this fix your eco start/stop feature?
I have a 2016 E63 wagon with the same problem. It has been with the dealer for 2 weeks and they are still working on a solution from AMG.

There is a bulletin and now a small recall for the 166/292 trucks for that same issue, I'd take it in, probably just a software update fix if there's no major faults.

Fault returned. The eco stop start intermittently fails to restart. Not fun sitting on 19th avenue, SF in rush hour in a brand new stalled Mercedes getting hard stares as people drive around you / miss the light.
Why can't Mercedes be like BMW and not turn eco stop start back on every time you restart the car?
Almost as niggly as having to hold down the seat memory button instead of BMWs where you just tap the button once, or better yet have his and hers keys that reset the seating position before you even get in the car (or is there a Merc feature I'm overlooking that does this?)

Finally sorted
Changed the 2 month old Fiamm battery with a Varta of identical specifications (80A 800 AGM).
Why on earth does the brand make such a difference if the required specs are met?
But after months of worry now its sorted.

2016 GLC 300, 2016 GLE 350
same problem on 2016 GLC 300
Hi, I just bought a GLC 300 2016 with 11k miles on it. I have put about 1k miles on it. The eco auto restart has failed to restart the car twice in the last few days. It has been working perfectly. I am in Texas and it is hot , but it has been hot for the month and it has worked fine. I was wondering if there is a known fault with the system? Or a firmware update or recall I don't know about. It only happens when you are at a red light with 50 cars behind you! Ugh. I can't believe in both instances no one honked. That's amazing for Texas as when its hot, people get irritable. I guess they see the new car temporary plates and are cutting me some slack. But this has to be sorted.

Take it to the dealer. I had this with mine. They had to replace the capacitor for the start stop system.

I prefer to have "ECO Off" - and made it ewasy for me with this module
https://www.ebay.com/itm/MERCEDES-ca...sid=m570.l1313
If you order - provide the VIN # to confirm correct module - reprogram once thru OBD port - module comes back out - and you have "ECO last setting" - if ECO OFF - when you restart your MB next run ECO is OFF - much better ECO Option for me.
