I believe 2018 MB GLC is coming with 4yr/50K miles free warranty.
I am thinking of buying extended maintenance plan and may be extended warranty (if it is feasible), if I purchase 2018 GLC.
Dealer is quoting $3500 for 7 years/100K miles extended warranty (ie 3 years after 4 year warranty) and $1645 for 4 year/125K miles maintenance plan?
I am planning to talk to other dealers as well.
Please advise on the following or share any pointers related to it?

- What is the maximum extended warranty and maintenance plan possible?
- What exactly does extended warranty covers? What exactly does extended maintenance plan covers?
- Are there any levels in the extended maintenance or extended warranty... If so could you share what exactly each level would cover and the price for the level?
- Is it worth it to go for the extended maintenance plan given that Mercedes does not offers any 3 years free maintenance plan like BMW, provided I plan to keep it for at least 10 years/125K miles?
- Is it worth it to go for the extended warranty now given that Mercedes offers 4 years free warranty, provided I plan to keep it for at least 10 years/125K miles??
- What is the best deal you can got on the extended maintenance plan for brand new GLC or Mercedes-Benz?

I am thinking of buying extended warranty, if I purchase brand new 2018 MB GLC. Dealer is quoting $3500 for (7 years/100K mile) ie., 3 years extended warranty after 4 years and $1645 for 4 year maintenance plan?
Is it worth it to get the extended warranty and maintenance plan on the brand new 2018 GLC?
Also what is the deal you got on the extended warranty and maintenance plan for your MB or GLC?

I got the 7/75 from Jeff Jackson at Tafel Motors for my GLC43 for only $1800. This was much less than all other offers. The rate for my GLC43 may be higher than the rate for your GLC300.
You can shop around for this stuff. There is no need to buy from your dealer, especially if they don't want to negotiate. I just paid over the phone with my CC. I'm sure Jeff will make you a good offer for the extended warranty and pre-paid maintenance. Shoot him an email.

I plan to have the GLC for a while, so I did invest in these.
7 YR/75K = $1700.00
5 year M-B WHEEL AND TIRE PLUS =950.00 (I bought the 20" multi-spoke AMG wheels) THERE IS NO DEDUCTIBLE FOR WHEEL REPAIR BUT IS LIMITED TO 4 CLAIMS.
4 PRE-PAID SERVICES: $1275.00

I just purchased the 2019 GLC300 4Matic from a MB dealer in Sarasota, Fl. They want $2500 for 7/75K warranty and $1335 for 4 year prepaid service. From what I am reading it seems you can purchase the warranty and maintenance plan for a better deal through any dealer even if it is out of state. I thought the pricing was mandated by Mercedes. The law in Florida doesn't allow any negotiations on extended warranties.

Personally, I question the value of an extended warranty. What are you covering? The 4 years /50K is the bumper to bumper warranty, but you have 8years/80K on anything emissions related and a couple of other things which should be specified in the warranty booklet. If you are in a state that has elected California Rules you have even better warranty coverage. Just about everything attached to the engine is emissions related. The only extra money I'd spend is the extra $40.00 or so it cost to get a car replacement policy from your insurance company. Did you run this through a spreadsheet?

It's the federally mandated emissions warranty. All cars come with this and plug-in hybrids have 15 years/150K . You can google it, or you can look in your warranty booklet. If you are in one of the 13 states that have adopted California emissions standards, then you have an even better protection.
Here's one of the many links returned when you google "8 years/ 80K emissions warranty" .. Either way, it is spelled out in the warranty booklet that came with your vehicle.

1. Prepaid Maintenance - the "best value" is 30K/3-pack miles purchased after initial 10K/1Yr but before 20K/2Yr - that will take care of 20K-30K-40K which gives you B-A-B for that 3-pack price. If you keep your GLC past 40K - then buy 2nd 30K/3-pack that will cover 50K/60K/70K. Please note as Prepaid Maintenance is not refundable - and not transferable to another Mercedes - you don't want to "over buy" prepaid maintenance. Prepaid Service can be purchased at any time - PRIOR to service check in - when leasing as a residualized option (buying at residual cost)
2. Extended Warranty - the best reason to "shop" is so that you know your local dealer is not-overcharging/or-overcharging on their warranty quote - unused Extended Warranty is 100% refundable BEFORE you hit it - and after your roll into Extended Warranty it is refundable pro-rated by remaining time or miles (whichever is less) LESS any paid claims on that extended warranty at time of refund. Not uncommon for some customers to "park" some extra refund cash for down-the-road if they trade/sell early. If financed thru MBFS and thru a experienced dealer - Extended Warranty can be a interest-free add-on..
Each of these are "informed personal choices" - every owner is free to make their choice that best suits their ownership....

I purchased the 7 yr/75k for my 2017 GLC from the dealer. Should have shopped it because I saved $600 when I did the same for my 2021 C300.
I had a problem with the electrical connection for my rear seat the last week of the 4 year mfg warranty. Fortunately it was just a disconnected wire. Just took it in for a check engine warning under extended warranty. Crank case ventilation hose was bad and they had to remove the lower engine cover and replace it. I am sure the repair cost at the MB Dealer would have been $500-$800 here in NC. These are very complicated/over engineered vehicles and I feel much better adding $2,000 onto the purchase price of $50,000 not to ever worry. There are some exceptions, and it definitely doesn't cover parts that wear but anytime they take the car apart it has to be $300-$500 plus the parts.....
