Perelli runflats 2018 glc 300 awd
Then , more bad news ...the dealer told me if I ever got a single measly nail - I could drive 50 more miles on the run flat - then pull over and hope that there is
a tire shop round the corner that has my tire - yes ..he said you cant fix a run flat - have to replace it.
Is this really true German engineering excellence at it's best ? I dread what would happen if I got a flat in the middle of the badlands?
Can anyone provide any information , ideas , besides my plan - which s to pray I don't get ever a flat on this set - then as soon as this set is wore , switch to non-run-flats and carry a fix a flat thingy.

Fortunately in my years of having run flat tires, I've only needed to deal with a puncture once or twice.

for me, the extra cost i can deal with. the fact they arent repairable if you drive on them for any length of time is ridiculous.
i would have gladly paid $500 at the dealer when i bought the vehicle for an installed spare in the boot that costs them $20
The tires I have ..Pirelli scorpion run flats are marked with the caution about not repairable and my local tire discounters... also says they wont repair it
I'm with you ajmtbm , I can handle the initial cost and the harsh drive, but not repairable ?
But I'm also concerned that if I take this car out to - lets say the badlands or death valley , 50 miles of extended run may not even get me to a place that has cell phone coverage, let alone
a shop that is waiting for me with replacement tires. This whole tire philosophy from MB stinks. It may work in Germany and in urban areas but not here... in many places. Our roads are good , but the low probability high cost event has an unacceptable 'hazard index' in my book.
A Local tire shop says they will install 235/60 R18 65K mile all seasons - all inclusive ( life time balance/rotation , hazard insurance ) and they dont want my runflats - so I get to keep them - no use to me really.I can then get a fix-a-flat kit /pump and carry it with me.
I'm asking the dealer to give me some kind of deal to swap them out - considering they kept these finer details well hidden and nicely un-advertized. Have to see if they can match the local tire shop.
The trunk under space does not seem that it can hold a spare- any ideas or anyone out there that has been able to carry some king of spare under the trunk space ?

If you do get a flat with the rft and there is a tire dealer within 50 miles based in what I am seeing chances are that they don't have the right rft in stock. At least with Michelin they will get you to the dealer and get a tire
Not sure what happens at 2 am but perhaps that's what a can of fix a flat is for

Slime 70005 Safety Spair 7-Minute Flat Tire Repair System $40.00 It's good for 500 miles.
Now I just need to get the non run flat tires. Think I will go with the Michelin Premier LTX.

I have run flats, had two punctures around 7000km on both cars.
Im keeping runflats at this stage, did equivalent of 42000km on first set. Done 14000km on other car.
My approach is buy jack tool set for boot, buy Tyre repair kit, like dyna plug and small 12v air compressor to ensure Tyre pressure maintained when nail or screw in Tyre, that way I know Tyre sidewall not damaged and Tyre shop will repair with mushroom plug for $25. Ensure you have TPMS that gives real time pressure and temperature, run flat around 8psi higher than others to allow heat build up and air loss when travelling. Drive sensibly and you can go 100’s km by maintaining correct pressures. Only real issue is damaged, torn sidewall, nothing will fix that, it’s a tow or fit spare donut.
Do not use non MB goo as risk is Tyre cannot be repaired, rim has to be perfectly cleaned inside to stop aluminium being eaten away by chemicals.
MB goo kit has air compressor and approved goo, but goo has 5 year shelf life, check use by date if buying over counter, insist on current date, or close to it.
Yes you can by donut spare, MB part number for GLC may not fit under boot lid, check fit first, others have purchased ML donuts and other models that fit under. Issue is warranty, AWD transmission stress and extra wheel nuts, shorter, steel bolts to fit different donut size when securing onto axle.
As said lots of discussion re this issue elsewhere on this forum.
Good luck.

Now it is Apr 2018, my tire is already wear out and I only drove 17500. I just went to my local Costco and got a set of Michelin premier for 1000 bucks.
