Questions on Heads Up Display
I am considering a new GLC 300 with the heads up display. However I want the smartphone integration package instead of the multimedia package. If you don't get multimedia package, does the navigation information (from Apple Carplay) get projected onto the heads up display? What other information is displayed?
Thanks!
Thanks!

I have a 2019 C43 with MB SD card nav and HUD and NAV shows up on HUD. Have no idea about apple but your dealer should be able to confirm one way or another. Does he have a car in stock you can try?

My 2018 BMW didn't show navigation information on HUD but did show music information though. Only thing to keep in mind is that if you wear polarized sunglasses, your HUD will technically becomes useless and you can't use it.

I have a 2019 C43 Sedan with the MB SD Nav and you can set the HUD to display the upcoming turns, speed etc. Even with the Multimedia Nav the map is not displayed on the HUD. On mine it shows a bar graph and the distance to an upcoming turn. At major intersections it also show the various lanes.

Mine shows next turn and distance to next turn on HUD. One odd thing though, when changing radio preset stations the station list flashes on the HUD for about 1/20th of a second then is gone. Too fast to read. Anyone else have this experience?

I currently own both a 2019 and a 2020 GLC. Both have HUD. 2019 has multimedia pkg - so no Apple Carplay.
For 2020, you CAN have both multimedia and apple carplay. no issues there. That what I have.
If I use apple carplay, I use WAZE for navigation. But the 2020 nav on the new MB command screen is pretty friggin slick, because it contains augmented reality. There is an added dashboard cam that flips the road ahead on the command screen when you get close to your turn, and MB add directional arrows to that actual visual.
Btw 2020 HUD shows a lot more info than 2019...

Quick follow-up
Played with Apple CarPlay using Apple Maps, Google Maps, and Waze. None will display or integrate at all in the HUD.
Only using native navigation that came with the car that’s where you will see HUD displaying turn by turn.
I also took a few pics of the augmented reality.

Augmented reality is really cool. But it draws your attention to the MBUX display when you're nearing a turn instead of keeping you focused on the road. I like it, but it seems half-baked in a way. Would be way better if they somehow did that via the HUD, but the fidelity of that display is not ready for that yet.

That’s funny because my 2018 Bmw 430 certainly shows nav info in the HUD. You know in settings, you can adjust what shows.

Weird, must be an Apple thing because the nav turn/lane display works fine in the HUD with Android Auto and Google Maps.
