Question GLC rear daylight driving light?

New to the forum I will try with a question.

I have a 2017 GLC SUV 350e with LED Intelligent Light System.
It's my first Mb and generally a pleasure. But:

Living in Denmark, it is custom to have the rear driving light on - also during daylight.
But my GLC will in auto mode turn the rear lights off during daylight driving.
In most cars driving in Denmark this can be fixed with a simple configuration.
But MB Denmark tells me "Not possible!".
Is there any of you clever MB drivers, that have seen a solution to this.
I am tired of nice people trying to signal to me to turn on my lights.(blink, honk, etc.)
And actually I like having them turned on for visibility.

Would the rear fog light work ? Is that an option on your vehicle - it's a push button to the left of the steering wheel in the US

Well, not really, as it is asymmetrical and the power is too high.
I even doubt, that it will be legal in Denmark as the only rear light.
Besides, I would need to remember each time I enter and leave the car.
Not really attractive taking "LED Intelligent Light System" price tag into account.
But thanks for the suggestion.

Your question brings more questions ...

I am surprised that MB Denmark ( if there is such a thing VS a private importer or a private seller ) was allowed to sell any car without compliance with local laws.
Was the car bought new locally in Denmark or was it previously owned with dubious origins ???

Here in Canada my 2019 GLC43 ( and all others ) was delayed by transport Canada for months ( 3 ) for minor non compliant issues like the Kelvin
temperature of some lights !!!

Also here in Canuckistan, if a car is brought in the country from wherever it cannot be registered for road use if not compliant with all of Transport Canada rules.

Are rules different in the EU?

OP says it is "custom" not required by law.

How about leaving the light switch in the ON position as opposed to auto. This way both headlights and rear lights will function every time you start the car.

Well yes, that would work, but also use more power. As I understand it, it is not only the LED driving light that will be on, but also the front "low light".
Its a Plug In Hybryd, remember, so it will probably reduce my electrical range. (not impressive as it is).
But I need to test it in daylight. An probably use it on the highway, where the e-drive dont last long.
Anyhow, each time I leave the car, the warning to turn off the light will sound.
Thank you for the suggestion.

Quite all right, I understand you are surpriced.
Actually the background history as I understaqnd it is a bit complicated:

Until 2011 both front and rear driving light was required by law in Denmark - also in dayligth. That was a sensible law for so many years, that it became "custom" also.
All the cars was built to do it automatically.
Then in 2011 EU found out it would be a good idea to enforce driivng light in all of EU. But only for front lights.
This law was then enforced in Denmark as part of EU. Cars with only front driving light became legal and some suppliers sold them in Denmark.
Among those MB.
BTW, EU changed in July 2016 the rules for rear lights. But only for new car type approvals. As my GLC from 2017 seem to ha an approval before that, I have no rear light in AUTO mode.
Most car brands in Denmark have the possibility to program the lights to the "custom" always on. But apparently not the luxury brand MB.
It gives another meaning to the "Das Beste oder nichts" = We decide what is best for you. ;-)

And yes, there is a MB branch office in Denmark, not only private sellers. But almost everything goes though the resellers.
My 350e was bought from new at one of the resellers.
