Brake Pads/Rotors for AMG Line/Sport Pkg

Searched around the forum but couldn't find an answer. Anyone know the MB part numbers for the drilled rotors and accompanying pads for the front brakes on the AMG Line (or also known previously as the Sport Pkg)? If you can point me to part numbers from Brembo, Zimmerman, all the better.

This would be a good thread to at least leave a record for those part numbers

Good point. Here is what I came up with:

Genuine MB Parts
  • Front Rotors: 000-421-23-12
  • Front Pads: 000-420-90-00
  • Rear Rotors: 000-423-07-12
  • Rear Pads: 000-420-83-00-28

Aftermarket
--none identified yet--

This place seems to have the best prices around for genuine MB parts: https://www.mercedespartscenter.com. I've ordered the front pads from them, I'll post a review of my experience when I get the parts.

Thank you for the part numbers. Out of curiosity, are you looking to replace yours? My GLC 43 is my third vehicle with cross-drilled rotors, but the first one that clogs its pores with brake dust. After a while, you can't even see the holes, which I'm sure nulls out both the performance and cosmetic benefits. I'm thus interested in aftermarket parts that hopefully will resist clogging better.

I ordered the parts but didn't end up installing them since the car passed state inspection. Will do so next year.

As for the clogged holes, I haven't noticed, but then again I use Poorboy's World Spray & Rinse Wheel Cleaner regularly when I wash the car and it does its job of removing 99% of brake dust anywhere you spray it. So that could explain why I haven't noticed the clogged up rotors.__PRESENT

did you change the pads yourself? Was it easy? What guide did you use?
Dealer says $850 plus tax to change rear pads. Includes rotors with only 43,000 miles. With a shop rate of $180/hr that goes quick. Did you change rotors too?

thanks

To me, changing pads and rotors is on the relatively easy end of the spectrum of DIY jobs. The difficulty usually lies in loosening stubborn bolts. It's a job that is somewhat error-proof as there aren't so many ways to screw it up: parts only go one way, except for the sensor the parts are sturdy, it's mostly common tools. I haven't found a ton of videos for the GLC but I think you'll get the gist in those two:

Then look for a video on new pad/rotor bedding procedure. I say go for it! Block 3 hours for your first axle and congratulate yourself when you come way under. A competent mechanic with power tools and a lift will bang this out in less than an hour.

I have a 2018 GLC300 with the AMG Sport Pkg wheels and drilled rotors. With 30,000 miles I am already experiencing warpage. This is a daily driver, and certainly not driven hard. I thought about just turning the rotors to get rid of the chatter, but am now leaning toward replacing front AND rear rotors and pads. While I don't see a lot of brake dust with the original pads. I am leaning towards carbon fiber/ceramic pads that produce very little dust, and new drilled and slotted rotors.
Has anyone had rotor warpage, and replaced rotors and pads? What did you do? Did you go back with MB parts or aftermarket?

On my GLK I had warped rotors after 5k miles. I had to beat the dealer up for three weeks for them to cover it as “gesture of goodwill.” Wonder how much pad life is left after 30k miles. A lot of GLK owners in that forum have gone after-market and not looked back. I think I will do the same on my GLC when I get there because I have a feeling pads and rotors for the AMG line will be up there in price.

Thanks for your input. I am about a month from running out of Warranty, so I am skeptical the Dealer will replace the rotors free. I have been looking at aftermarket rotors and ceramic/carbon pads at Powerstop. Compared to OEM MB parts, they are much cheaper. I sure would like to hear from other MB owners that may have tried them.

thanks again for your feedback.

I still haven't replaced the rotors since my wife only put 1K miles in 2020 vs the usual ~9K, but I have noticed a lot of warping coming through when braking. It's weird because the rotors look fine and I can't find any ridges or grooves on the surface. Either way, seems like a common issue.

Thanks for your feedback. My GLC has around 30k miles, and I only notice the vibration when braking hard. I have not looked at the pads yet, but if there is plenty of wear left on them I will probably get the rotors turned and reinstall them.
