Spare Tire Option
Curious to know if the ones out there that are ordering a GLC are ordering the spare tire option? I think for $200 it would be a smart thing to do. It will give the purchaser the option when replacing tires to go the non-run flat route. I order an X5 with the "space saver tire" and when the run flats were ready to be replaced I went with non run flat Michelin, and they make a world of difference in the way the car rides and handles.

I took delivery of my 2020 GLC in Sept. and it included the spare tire option. When I ordered the GLC, my salesman really pushed me to order the spare. Once he explained the severe limitations of the run flats (imagine a flat on a Sunday, 200 miles from home), it was a no brainer. At about 6,000 miles I replaced the OEM Pirellis with Conti Pure Contact Tours based on Tire Rack's assessment. Much quieter, better ride compliance and significantly better winter performance, not to mention long tread wear ratings. Hate to waste relatively new tires but I've done it twice before to replace subpar OEM tires on new cars, mostly to gain winter performance (I'm in Michigan). I always carry a compressor and plug kit, so the run flats should't be missed. Drove 40+ years without them and survived. But, I now have the spare, if I need it. One downside is losing the under deck storage tray, but there is still a lot of space around the tire.

Should be able to add this later, yeah. I have my 43 on order, and when I asked the salesperson about the 'extra' bits I needed to order, like the spare tire, she told me we could do all of that closer to my delivery date. I plan on picking one up.

On the other hand, I did some researches on the wheels and tires. According to other posts that you may consider some older emergency wheels from GLK, but I found it's almost impossible to buy that off ebay or anywhere.
Here are what I found
1. GLC wheels are with bolt pattern 5x112mm
2. The cover in the trunk and the space - I haven't actually measured yet since my wife is driving it, the perfect choice is to make sure the thickness of the spare tire can be fit into the space
3. I believe something T155/70R18 should fit GLC but has to be 5x112mm bolt pattern
4. Need to buy the jack and tools kit that fits the leftover space in trunk (hidden)
5. May also need a genuine E-pump if you got the space saver tire

TGs is correct I looked yesterday at a 2020 GLC the dealer. No spare and no place for one unless you order this option. Which I did. our GLC was built last week pick up in Germany in April.

I don't know about parts but there was significant shipping delay for my car. It was built first week of February but sat there at the port for 2 weeks before being loaded on the boat. Dealer says it usually only takes a day or two before being loaded.
