He said to me that basically, you pay him, he does some "remote coding" (no tools required on your end), and then you go to the dealer for them to refresh/apply updated SCN coding. Then in theory, it should be activated.
Wonder if MB is planning a software update for 2020 GLC with multimedia package to enable this.
knowing how cheap and frugal they are at Mercedes, probably not......
but that don’t mean we can’t push our Service advisors or your favourite sales person to see if they would help to get it done for us, I know I will go and push mine..

Requires Multimedia Package (DA5)
The dashcam films and saves what's happening on the road in front of your vehicle - and also records the time and speed. This can help you in documenting the sequence of events in an accident, for example, and provide you the supporting evidence if necessary. Or you can hold on to landscapes and routes which are worth seeing and create your own automotive travel diary.
Components
-Camera in the windshield
-Recording of videos with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels (720p) and a frame rate of 30 Hz
-Additional storage of speed and time, embedded in the video signal
-Menu in the media display, or optionally also control via the Touch Control buttons or touchpad
-Storage option via USB stick using the Media Interface
-Video material can be viewed on a computer or the media display (only possible when vehicle is stationary) - for this the storage media must first be removed from the interface and reconnected
Agreed, in Aus there was a MY20.5 minor refresh and the only significant difference is you can add the multimedia pack. My MY20 is missing the required camera (the spot is there, but it's empty).
My 2020 GLC43 AMG has the camera, and the correct package, I just hear they won’t enable it, after the fact......even if you want to pay for it....cheap bastids.....
I’ve found a person who will code remotely for only $140. He’ll send you a dongle once the payment was received and will unlock 5 features with the $140. Extra features $25. The guy Max Yao wanted to charge me $3,000. Yes that right 3 grand. Are you kidding me? If any is interested I’ll send you the info. If you want the dash cam your Mbux system must be the premium one that comes with the Parker Nvidia chip. There are some who have the lower spec chip even if they have augmented reality. If you don’t have the Parker nvidia chip even if he code the dash cam won’t work.

Other ways to check:
1. Check your spec sheet for 549 MBUX HeadUnit High.
2. Check if you can play a video file from a USB.
3. Check if you can get full-screen navigation in the speedometer screen.
