GLC 300 4MATIC - buy new or used??
Not sure, if I need to go with used or new(2020/2019), in dilemma. The plan is to drive for 5years and then decide to sell/trade to get another car or keep this one. Please any help is greatly appreciated

Thanks!!

Can you post the price and option content of the 2016 and 2017 models you mentioned? This will allow a full evaluation.
In your research on this site you may have learned that complaints on the panoramic roof are not uncommon.
My 2017 GLC CPO had been a service loaner for less than 4,000 miles when I got it in May of 2017, To call me a high mileage driver is an understatement - it crossed the 142,000 mile mark yesterday. The first 100,000 were the toughest. I would guess I had about $10,000 worth of work done, about half of that under CPO after the new car warranty ran out, and I paid nothing. The last 42,000 miles have been trouble free. I have the car for sale now and, since the warranty is transferable, the buyer gets the year and a half that remains. That's insane, in a good way!

For those of us way behind you (mileage-wise), it would be interesting to hear about the repairs you'd had done.
Thanks,

- ~ 3700 - I picked up the car, CPO, former service loaner
- ~ 5000 - Took car in for two problems:
- Front wheels bouncing and even becoming airborne over broken pavement. A common problem reported on the forums. The dealer took the front suspension apart and the problem got better but did not go away completely until I replaced the tires with non-run flats at around 35,000. (My guess is that M-B engineers forgot to tune the suspension for run-flat tires.)
- Excessive wind noise, also reported on forums. Dealer installed acoustic glass in front side windows. Huge improvement!

- 34,811 - noise in dash when cold. Heater blower replaced
- 35,021 - new tires - Michelin Premier A/S $1040
- 46,244 - rattle in right rear cargo area. Left rear speaker falling out, fixed with some bushings.
- 61,627 - Blind spot monitor out. Replaced warning light in right mirror
- 78,693 - Replace V-belt - $171 out of pocket; change transmission fluid $498 (should have been ~$800 but Miami M-B dealer quoted me for a 2-wd not realizing a 4matic costs a lot more); leaking engine mount covered under CPO
- 88,230 - PCV malfunction. Replaced
- 97,422 - Replace rear brake pads and rotors - $686
- 101,737 - Right front axle seal leaking
- 104,795 - Replace front brake pads and rotors - $840.93
- 113,522 - Replaced Michelin tires with Pirelli Scorpion Verde A/S - $873. (Michelin had 78,000 miles and had maybe 10k more left in them but I was headed out for a long trip in the winter.)
- 142,110 - current mileage

My 2017 GLC only has 30k miles on it. Other than the squeaky brakes that so many have reported, the only problem I've experienced is a minor cosmetic one: one of the front door sill plates came off. This is just a thin chrome cover that is glued on the door sill. The dealer glued it back on for me.
Also, planning to add a diamond front grill and black accent mirrors and replace chrome window trims to black later.
So current options were,
1. 2020 with panoramic roof - 41.2K
2. 2019 without panoramic roof - 38K
3. 2020 service loaner(as same as above 2020 config except for the panoramic roof)- 40K ..this might be out of option as the price matches the new vehicle
Should I just go for 2020 or get 2019? Do the new features really added value? I think I will just keep this vehicle for at least 5-6years.
Sorry for too many questions, I'm new to this forum, want to hear MB owners thoughts
Thanks
Dealer is offering me $42.5 for GLC 300 2020 vehicle config as below, what is a good price to ask for? I'm thinking of $39K or $40K, is that great/over priced?
White exterior
Silk beige interior with dark linden wood trim
along with below options
Thanks,

I was in the same boat last year (2019 $50k, CPO 2017 $35k).
Just some thoughts. I bought the new one but both my options had the same features : Stand alone leds, lunar blue paint, black interior, some goodies....
NEVER GET THE PANO ROOF.
They are largely problem causers on older vehicles. I also skipped that on my new car. Instead, you could get some other goodies like ambient lighting.
By the way on CPO's it is year and options vs mileage

If you like that car you're talking about (2020, 42.5), you should be able to get a better deal.
Reason #1: I was able to get a better deal on my 50K GLC last year and managed to pull it down to 40K.
Reason #2: Coronavirus exists and you should be able to negotiate a little more.
Reason #3: The dealer lots are filled to the brim (at least in beaverton, OR). You will be able to get a better price on a better equipped vehicle that just nobody seems to want.
Here are my car features, I think you will need these too:
Static or intelligent (std. on 2020), keyless go, your favorite paint and interior (subjective), burmester sound system, 3 color ambient lighting, smartphone integration pack. (std. on 2020), 4matic (depends on your location), your favorite wood trim, safety features youthink you will need (360 camera, driver assist (don't have that))

Another option: Look at a bunch of dealers near you and pick your favorite.
Sorry about filling this thread out with posts!
However, I just wanted to pour out my opinion. I had been holding back, but this thread is definitely alive!
I posted my reply in a different thread with the same request from me earlier. Let me know how to combine both

Also, I contacted a few other dealers, and found a few options,
1. 2016 - red ext, beige int, panoramic roof, Burmester, premium2 package, no LED, multimedia package, sports pkg, AMG body styling; for ~$32K with 20.3miles on it
2. 2017 - diamond white ext, beige int, panoramic roof, Burmester, premium2 package, LED light - for $35.5K with 18K miles
My thought was on 2017 but 2016 options are putting me in dilemma. Am I missing anything when comparing 2016 vs 2017 in terms of known issues? I haven't checked out deeply on the panoramic issues here yet, is it that bad to have it as an option on CPOs? Any other things, I need to consider to make a firm decision?
Sorry, I'm new to this MB world and also MB vehicles hence requesting, hope you understand
Thanks,
Yeshwanth
