Torn between yellow/blue as I already had red on my previous car and I think I'm over it.

p.s. totally of topic does anyone know if 2020 and 2019 have switchable front grill? I'm looking to have mine replaced by AMG style 2020 all black grill.
I would get the yellow calipers. if I were you. I would also powder coat all the chrome black.

I have these on my 2019 Coupe. Once the exhaust residue builds up in the pipes - you dont really see the chrome shining through anymore. This pic is when i first put them on and the car was brand new so the chrome is showing a bit.

Thanks for sharing the picture. That doesn't look bad at all. You can't really tell at first glance. How long have you had them on and how have they held up? Did you just use the adhesive that with them, or did you add something additional? I am thinking about adding Gorilla Glue. Is there a noticeable gap or bulky area around the tips once adding?

2019 GLC 300 - Coupe
Ive had them on for just under 2 years now. I originally used the double sided tape that came with it... However...

Although our cars have dual exhaust - I dont know if anyone has noticed but the majority of the exhaust actually comes out of the right pipes - not much from the left.

Because of this - after 2 years - the paint on the cover started to flake off on the right one only. Left one - no problem.

So i pulled it off - sanded it down - painted with Tremclad High Heat Enamel (Gloss Black) - then used some industrial grade metal to metal adhesive (I work for a Machine/Fabrication Shop) - and re-affixed it. No problems since and you can see no difference between the two colors.

Not sure what you mean by gaps?

That sounds like you have a pretty good handle on the adhesive piece. Good to hear. That gives me hope if I go this route.

I had thought that all of the exhaust came from underneath the pipes and nothing actually came from the tips? Maybe it is different with my '20 vs your '19 Coupe.

By "gaps", I mean areas that are exposed along the tips cover. Does it sit flush against current chrome tips?

Oh no. The exhaust actually comes out through those. They are semireal. Look into the exhausts and you will see two wimpy pipes. At least for my19s

Sorry mercedes. The pipes are real. The tips are fake. If you are so scared, get the chrome done in black.

The tips are fake and not functional. The exhaust is dumped out the bottom.

Huh? Scared? I am not scared, just concerned with how the black tips holdup with adhesive, the elements and how they look aesthetically.

oops. I understand your concerns. It worked for Brandon, it should work for you. Aesthetics look fine, I think you'll be all good with those.

There is definitely some exhaust coming out of the tips. Percentage - no clue. But from the paint flaking ive experienced - its mostly out of the right side.

I really wanted the 63s style quad tips - but from all my research and contacting vendors - they wont mount to the standard rear diffuser and you need the whole rear diffuser kit to achieve the look. Didnt want to spend that much.

I then looked at the full housings from the 43 - but opted to go with just the cover plates. As for gaps - you would never know they are cover plates if i didnt tell you. They are almost identical in aesthetics to full 43 housings - at a fraction of the cost.

They must've switched out that from '19 to '20 because my tips are just for appearance. You can stick your hand in and hit the back of them. I read that all of the exhaust is dumped out the bottom and it's really only a one exhaust system. I guess that's good for the corrosion aspect. I won't have to worry about them getting dirty and turning black, but bad for when it comes to blending in the chrome with the tips. It's also good for me that I won't have to worry about paint chipping or the adhesive over heating. If I get them I think I'll do like you and use some metal to metal adhesive - or Gorilla Glue which I already have on hand.

Great to know that they are nearly identical in aesthetics. I'm definitely leaning towards picking these up based off your feedback and positive review.

That's neat. I think the pricing is reasonable also.

Hey Brandon, I would powder coat the trim above taillamps black. I think it would look neat against your white paint. I would also do the mirrors and the door trim and any other exterior chrome bits black, including wheels. It would look awesome!

I have seen similar new tips on eBay for 29 bucks. That's a sharp deal.

I've only found 1 that fits my '20 on eBay and it was $85. I could paint or coat them for less than that.
