Picked up our new '21 GLC 4-matic - Confused about user profiles and seat memory/FOBs
Hello,
Custom ordered a '21 GLC loaded up to replace our '12 ML350 Blutec. I really like the car, but some of the tech doesn't appear to be working. I setup 2 user profile and I cannot figure out how to link the seat memory position or key FOBs to the profiles. We have the real leather seats w/ ventilation, but don't have passenger seat memory. When you switch between profiles it warns you the seat could move, but it won't.
I'm also really pissed I had to pay $700 for the side impact airbags to protect my 4.5 year old daughter that our '12 ML had standard.
Overall the car seems like a good fit. Much larger than our old GLK and not as heavy/wallowy feeling as the ML diesel. Wife wanted something fun and we looked at Macans and for a base Macan you could get a very well optioned GLC. The 4-cylinder is a little buzzy and the doors don't have the traditional Mercedes weightyness, but overall I like it. I LOVE the adaptive headlights. My mother has a CLS with them and they were a must-have for me.
This will due for the next 3-5 years and probably get something electric next.

Good choice on the selenite grey metallic color. It will look very nice under the sun. I see you have added chrome strip on the rear hatch. It does make your GLC stand out from the crowd and blend in nicely with the body color. I have it too. You might want to add chrome door cup to complete the look. Wish I have opted for those 20" rim. Was worried about the ride comfort so didnt. I see you didnt get the 360 camera.

Keep your owner's manual handy. Re-reading some of the more technical option settings made them clearer for me on my 2020. Once you get it all set up as you like it, everything will sing and dance joyfully!

User profile, key fob, memory seat, don’t go hand in hand and don’t work together
use the 3 memory buttons on the door to get your seat back to where you like it
key fob locks the doors, unlocks them, but does nothing for the seats
user profiles, well they set your dash, ambient lighting, radio stations, but again nothing for the seats
this is my biggest gripe on the vehicle as well, crap, my half the price Nissan at least moved the seats based on what key fob was used to turn the vehicle on etc
these cars have bells and whistles but they don’t all play together, and get you what you would think you should be getting
