2020 MBUX GLC Update
Anyone else have an MBUX update. I have been trying to figure out what has changed. System seems more responsive and CarPlay seems to load faster. Any thoughts?

This is the recall for the location issue if the system sends a distress call. That was the recall where it might have sent the first responders to the wrong location. .
As usual with the automaker updates, it’s cumulative. I’ve not noticed any other changes in MBUX, but I did notice a few collision warnings popping up since I installed this. May be totally coincidental, but there is a S-turn that I drive at least twice weekly, and usually take it at 40MPH. Never got a warning there before, but got it twice this week.
I got another two warnings when driving this past week, admittedly one was likely legit (car in front of me stoped short), but the other seemed to be a false alarm

The software 081 is the same as "fup3" (sometimes referred to as firmware update 3 or "freshen up 3"). The "fup3" isn't shown on vehicles that came from the factory with that version, and I read somewhere that they may have dropped the "fup x" from being displayed in future updates. For comparison, Software 063 is fup2. These major revisions are very different than the location update recall that's first mentioned in this thread.
Version 081 fixed a few things in the MBUX system, largely related to Favorite and Recent POIs not always showing up as intended. See this TSB: TSB for Missing Favorite and Recent in MBUX
FWIW, my update was about a year ago, and was done in the hopes it would fix the bizarre navigation directions I was sometimes getting (very inefficient navigation settings) Those issues seem to be largely fixed, but not by the software update to 081.

I went to the dealer last year to get MBUX updated because Carplay would only connect about half of the time. Dealer stated they weren't capable of it. Shows how archaic their infrastructure is when Tesla is able to roll out updates every 2-4 weeks directly to the car.
Anyways, I finally received a pop up of an over the air update for MBUX, will report back with version change after it goes through.

I just had this update OTA, glad to see what the updates are. But if anyone has had some coding done to your vehicle prior to the update, this update will erase all the coding and bring it back to factory specs. Just FYI.
