Unhappy GLC 300 48V battery issue

Brand new 2022 with barely 150miles on it. Red battery indicator with 48V problem to stop driving the car.
Anyone facing the same issues and what are the solutions?

Probably sat at the dealership for too long so the starter battery is depleted, I guess drive it more often for longer distances to recharge it or just keep engine running.
I don't think your car has a 48V battery though, are you sure it doesn't say 12V battery by any chance?
That being said, if you live anywhere outside of North America then the GLC 300 does have a 48V battery.

In the case of a 48V battery fault for a late model year like the 2022, it is very likely a software update will fix it and actual battery replacement should no longer be required.

That’s correct outside North America hence the 48v battery. An update was done so hope that solves the issue. Just wondering if any GLC users facing a similar issue given what I read on the forum mostly on GLEs.

I too think that the update should solve the issue, the 48V hybrid system is pretty much the same in other MBs so comparing the GLE 48V hybrid system issues to your GLC is actually pretty relevant. The early stages of the 48V hybrid system issues was either painted grounds or the actual battery that was defective and was subsequently replaced by a different battery with a different part number, the later stages is when it is basically a software issue in the battery control module and a software update is the fix. I do expect it is the latter since you have a 2022 model year vehicle.

It appears there is really no software update. In actuality, they are just reflashing the computer and clearing the codes. The first time our car shut down due to the 48v issue we were told it was the paint on the terminals/connections. I questioned this as the car has had numerous electrical issues since new and this didn’t happen until it was almost 2yrs old and had 22k miles. MBUSA insists that the paint was the cause. The second time we got stuck (6 months later) they just reflashed the computer and said if it happens again to bring it back. I asked if they did a software update and they said no, it was currently up to date. So in essence, they did nothing except clear the codes. My service advisor said it’s such a complex system they really don’t know of a fix or why it’s happening.
the kicker is , MBUSA acts as if my car is the only car this has happened to and they say all the threads online about this issue are fake news! They are in total denial.

I have sent an e-mail to : Brian Cotter, the product manager for the SL at MB. His e-mail address is: Brian.Cotter@MBUSA.com

I really think this will need a proper fix.

So do they have an update now or still the same old?

Apparently the battery drain issue with my SL63 is fixed!

Just received this text from our Service Advisor, Matt. Dave is the Shop Foreman at Mercedes-Benz of Walnut Creek, California.

“Dave said everything is looking good. He performed software updates and recoding to multiple control units. He cleared all codes. He has been letting the vehicle sit with the keys inside and the battery has been holding its charge. The CAR is going to sleep as it is supposed to. I'm coordinating with AW Collision and currently waiting on an email back from them. The SL has been inside the shop this whole time.”
