Accelrator Pedal Wiring Harness Warranty Extension

I received the following Warranty Extension letter from Mercedes Benz. I own a 2017 GLC300 (Base) that I bought CPO and the warranty expired at the end of July.

I am not very sure what issue or problem it is describing. Should I be concerned? If it is serious enough, why is there no recall? Should I contact NTSB?

I don't want to jeopardize our family's safety. Any advice will be highly appreciated.

Thanks.

I got the same letter. Accelerator pedal going limb sounds very scary. I think this should be a recall item. In Los Angeles freeways if your car goes limb you're dead....

I like how they word it: "...to enhance the satisfaction of our customers..."

I think I'd go to the dealership and say "I just got this letter from Mercedes about extending my gas pedal wiring warranty. The letter describe some of the symptoms that I have intermittently, but I can't replicate so I haven't brought it in. The failure modes worry me a lot for my family. Can you help me?"

I’m sure they would be very sympathetic when no codes show up.

I think they should be sympathetic if you have a problem!
A repair order doesn't enter codes, it enters customer complaints.
I've had various warranty repairs done over the years, and only one showed a code - the DEF heater on my diesel.
All are entered as "customer stated that..." and then the problem. The dealer gets paid when they do warranty work, whether it throws a code or not.

There are many reasons it may go into limp mode. Anything that would damage the engine. The ECU is going to throw a code. The technician is not going to start replacing parts if a code is not found. How is he going to know the wiring is the problem? It’s the old NTF response.

One thing is 100% certain. If you don't mention your concerns to the dealer, nothing will happen.
If you have no concerns then there's nothing to do.

I'd make an appointment for the service manager and tell them your concerns.

Interesting that no mention of this with Australian owners ?????
Not sure if UK owners have an issue, will try and find out.
One would think design and modules would be the same for other Regions ???
Anyone from outside USA with info , please post updates for us.

A stealership here in Australia is getting a code that says "Line between B37 accelerator pedal sensor and N3/9 CDI Control Unit" leading to a new gas pedal and contacts adition at the wiring harness, cost AU$2,400!! We also have the pleasure to be paying AUS$600 or US$360 extra compared to the EU cost of that spare part! They must think we are all rich South East Asian dictators, who can pay for driving an old Merc with quality issues and service issues. The harness at the pedal and cable end needs to have new contacts installed. No recall here in Oz.

I just got a warranty extension letter for my 2019 GLC63S in Canada.
So far I had no symptoms as described in the letter so I just need to file it for another 4 years.

Looks like they cover only 401 GLC300 units sold here in Oz.
