Hey Mercedes not working

My Hey Mercedes feature isn’t working. It won’t tell me any jokes, won’t respond to other commands also. Anyone else have this problem and know how to fix it without a service call?

Is there an active internet connection? Check the signal bar.

Thanks for responding. No there isn’t. What do I have to do?

Hmmm if I understood it correctly, you see no signal bars, and it says "SOS NOT READY?" when did it happen, does your Mercedes Me app on your mobile phone communicate with the car at all, are you able to remote start, unlock and lock, send destinations to your vehicle? Has your Mercedes Me subscription expire yet?

I thought "Hey Mercedes" was pretty fun at first. Told jokes, handled complex questions, had some fun party tricks. But now I just find it severely lacking. It doesn't do basic human commands very well. For instance, if I don't need driving directions anymore, you can't say "cancel directions" or it'll turn off driving route suggestions. Only "cancel navigation" stops turn-by-turn directions. Plus it seems like it's gotten dumber lately, like not knowing how to answer simple questions like it once did.

You know, Amazon Alexa is by far the best voice assistant, but they've threatened to kill it because they don't know how to make it profitable. If they would just license it to auto manufacturers maybe they could make a buck. I know Apple is trying to get there first with Siri/CarPlay though, which would still be miles better than MBUX.

I guess that is why they are integrating ChatGPT to MBUX to perhaps make "Hey Mercedes" more powerful?

Problem fixed

I don’t know where the problem fixed itself. Yesterday everything was working fine. Maybe it was an issue on Mercedes side
