trailer hitch wiring harness for 2022

Has anyone had luck getting an after market trailer hitch installed with the wiring for 4 pin.
Had trailer hitch installed then told the wiring had the wrong plug for the hook up to lights

Hey all.

I have installed the OEM tow bar on my 2022 GLE 350 4Matic. I had to buy the mount brackets, but it's done.
Now question, where the harness connects?

Stealth Hitch has instructions on their website for a full installation. Just use the relevant information they have. Pretty sure they had a youtube video as well.

They must bypass the Can-Bus then. Factory wiring is integrated.
I think that would mean that you wouldn't get it any "lights out" or similar warnings in-car, with Stealth Hitch wiring.

If that's the correct harness that the OP has, it should integrate directly with the Can-Bus and provide all those features.

There must be a way.
One that doesn't involve any snipping cutting or tapping - just plugging into the appropriate socket when it's found.

Wow, those instructions are really clear and the illustrations are great. I learned a lot. Thanks for posting it.

I'd want more secure connections than Scotch-locks and crimp-on power cords, though.

I still don't understand how you would activate things like the blue brake wire, if the car didn't already have a factory hitch.

According to step 25 " The module has an
“input” side that receives
power from the vehicle’s
battery and signals from the
vehicle’s taillights.
The
“output” side of the module
delivers this information to
the 7-way plug. The control
module is connected to the
vehicle’s battery and taillight
wiring as outlined in the next steps
."

I wonder if there are forums talking about pros and cons.

no, not yet have you?
I bought the TRAILER HITCH CONNECT CONTROL MODULE A1679003402 OEM i believe it should be used as well, not 100% sure though. The black connector goes in this module, however the green one, have no idea. and then the module need to be connected.
