2023 Mercedes Benz GLC 300 4matic
car battery failures in 2004-2022 models across the Mercedes-Benz vehicle line

I own a mercedes 2023 glc300 4matic which is not listed but I am having the same issues. Apparently the lawsuit was filed before my vehicle was made and the issue had not been resolved in the 2023 glc models.

I have a no start on my vehicle 3 times since new. Under 9k miles. Today they say that they don't find anything wrong with the vehicle. The say i don't drive it enough for the battery to charge. The suggested i place the car on a trickle or maintenance charger.
very disappointed

Statement from lawsuit:

car battery failures in 2004-2022 models across the Mercedes-Benz vehicle line, including Class S, C, A, CLA, CLS, G, GLA, GLK, GLC, ML, GLE, GL, GLS, and E vehicles that Mercedes manufactured between 2004 to 2022. Reports cited in the Complaint include sudden drastic battery failures including in Class S, Class C, Class G, GLE (once Class M), and Class E vehicles

Wow that is a huge range of vehicles and many model years... Other than the 48V issue that first reported in 2019, I am surprised prior years of vehicles that only had a 12V battery are included.

All three of my cars plus my daughter's are on that list, plus 4 of our previous cars and I've replaced exactly one battery. That was on an '07 E350 that I bought at the end of a 3 year lease to an ESPN personality. The car had excellent service records and was still under warranty when it needed a jump one day, so I called Mercedes Road Service (remember them?). The road tech had a nearly new battery on hand, having replaced it in a brand new 2010 E350; it tested perfect but the new car owner demanded a replacement. I paid him $50 for it and it served me well for 5 years.
All three of my cars do less than 9000 miles per year, and the SL gets parked for 4 months in winter, outdoors under a car cover; no battery issues on any of them*. Contrast that to the many cars I drove in the 30 or so years before I switched to Mercedes, when I replaced so many batteries (and alternators) I couldn't possibly count.

*I have had to replace two "secondary" batteries: in the W205 it's actually a capacitor and was covered under warranty, even at over 4 years old, while on the R231 it's an actual battery so it was not covered by the then-valid warranty; cost under $300.

2024 Mercedes GLE63s
48V battery failure

My new 2024 Mercedes GLE63s (7 months old, 4500 miles) barely made it back home this morning. I was on the highway about an hour from home when a message popped up in red saying 48V battery malfunction. It got worse from there as everything started falling and I then got a “STOP VEHICLE” message. I was able to limp home and a flatbed is coming to pick this up. Have any of you had similar problems with a 2024?
