2020 GLC300 Wheel Bearing Replacement (Need Help)

I recently picked up a 2020 GLC300 and am getting a grinding noise from the right front, and it gets louder when I shift the weight to that side while turning left. I’m about to replace it myself, and was wondering if anybody here had the torque values for all the components that need to be removed? Axle bolt, 4x bolts that hold the wheal bearing in place.

I also tried the search function to see if anybody has a DIY on here, but my searching skill must not be up to parr since I could not find any results.

If anybody on here has the procedure with torque specs I would greatly appreciate if you can help me out.

Thanks,

Axle bolt! Before jack it up. Loosen the axle bolt while all 4 tires on the ground. Remove MB logo axle center plastic cap. E24 socket on 2 feet+ breaker bar. I felt i needed 200+ ft.ld to turn

Torque i felt was 50~70 ft.ld . Not official number.

Chisel & hammer

I replaced a wheel bearing assembly on 2017 glc300.

I didn't find the torque specs, so just tightened with the amount of the muscle feeling when i loosened.

Axle bolt E24 - 200 ft.ld or more
wheel bearing 4 bolts E14 - 50~70 ft.ld
were i felt.

My wheel bearing was stuck and i needed to hit with a chisel to remove from the knuckle.

new wheel bearing i purchased was about cdn$100, Kugel 70-513388

good luck!

in the document,

Rear Axle shaft - 260 ft.ld = 350 nm

wheel bearing - 60 ft.ld = 80 nm

that Axle bolt Torque is crazy high, I don’t think any of my 1/2 torque wrenches go past 250ft. And that is for rear, would it be the same for the front? It’s the front right I’m replacing.

All this information is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Somehow my 450 ftlb Dewalt atomic 1/2 impact couldn't turn it. So i used 2 feet breaker bar plus a cheater pipe to make 3.5 feet to turn the axle bolt.

Rear axle is the main drive shaft in GLC, so front should be similar or same.

when I tighten it, I just used my impact, I guess about 150 ~200 ftld was my torque.

With some more digging I found the torque values for the front wheel bearing and axle bolt. Hope this helps future DIYers.

Not sure, I reached out to a friend who has AllData access. I can ask. Are there different documents with different values?

Could be, for each model like x353.
But most of the time its one doc for all they just indicate for what model.
