23' GLC MBUX known issue(s)

1st post here! Just picked up a 2023 GLC for the wife. Less than 100 miles. Got a call this morning from her saying when she started the car she heard a loud sound and the MBUX went blank. I'm assuming it was a short and the sound she heard was the speakers. The unit rebooted and behaved normal after that. I'm currently burying my head in the sand and telling myself "everything will be fine, it's a new vehicle" but of course, I have already seen other people report issues with the MBUX. So far this has only been a 1 time occurrence. Anyone experience anything similar? I've seen posts reporting fuzzy screen issues, black screen issues, etc...Potential faulty ground?! Anyways, let me know and ease my mind!

No problems or issues. All screens are crisp. The system responds to voice and touch. Has never gone black or blank.Ordered car in Jan took delivery end of April. Only 900 miles. I don’t drive a lot.

GLC ‘23 has known issues with main controller unit not grounded or not responding, get it checked with dealer. If you notice any issues with active steering, brake assist- DEFINITELY get it checked.

Spoke to a local dealer who told me that her dealership has had several complaints, no start issues. GLC just going through some growing pains, cars are tested and retested, however, not until real world, day to day driving is done do we really know the full extent of the problems. Everything is fixable

Hmm. I am thinking about getting one of these but wonder if I should wait until the '24.

There is no shortage of stories from those that bought model year 1 cars and had plenty of problems. Generally it is considered better to wait for year 2 and beyond. Of course each persons circumstances will dictate what they need to do and why. Our last car was a 2019 RDX Acura, which was year 1, and there have been plenty of issues that really did not really resolved until the MY 2022 came out because some of it was hardware related which no amount of software updates, resetting and so on could fix. I signed up for MB World to try and get an idea of how the 2023 GLC was going, which of course for a '23 came out so late.....April/May of '23. There has not been much feedback here, and I don't really know what the most read/utilized blog for MB's is, bit I am hoping to get some sense of how it's introduction is going. I realize the exterior is not changed much from previous gen., the interior is changed, and personally I love the look of both. I think it is one of the best looking compact/mid-size SUV's o the road. I don't think MB has a good job getting this thing out given how late it was getting it to dealer lots, how bad the MB website is for the GLC, and the difficulty getting a '23 or '24 ordered. MB did not seem to get many of these out to dealers as what initially showed up is about all that has ever made it. Inventories have hardly changed. I hope there are more owner reviews to get a better idea how the year 1 GLC is going.

UPDATE: No further issues with the MBUX. It seemed to be a 1 time occurrence. My assumption is it had something to do with an update as I noticed the vehicle received an OTA update the night prior.

2023 GLC
Have had 2 new 2023 GLC's in the last month. Both locked up on two different days (a total of 4 different times) with beeping, many different red alerts flashing on the dash screen, steering locked, windows locked, key didn't work. Lasted 30 minutes three times and 90 minutes the fourth time. Both cars then turned off completely after the 30 minutes and the 90 minutes and could be started.

Get the update done and the problem will go away.

I just had the same issue this weekend. Driving in a heavy rain and all of a sudden there was a loud crack (must have been from speakers). All the screens went black and then rebooted. All seems fine now. And I have had the update performed by the dealer.

I also had that happen in a heavy rain. You can reproduce the sound and rebooting of the MBUX system by holding in the power button (next to the fingerprint sensor) for several seconds. The dealership did this to confirm the sound I heard.
