2025 GLC SUV 4Matic AMG package
2025 glc 300 front left lighting unit

Since I purchased my 2025 in November 2024, when it is dark outside and my front headlights are on (not high beams), I notice some strange cut out like figures against the darkness emitting from the front left light unit (this would be on a U.S. model). They appear like jagged lines coming down to a point from top to bottom on the light emitting from the headlight unit. I am curious if this has something to do with the Digital Lighting, as it does not happen on the right-side from what I have been able to tell. It seems very odd to say the least, as I have never seen anything like this in any other vehicle I have owned. Perhaps it is a function of the Digital Light that the U.S. is not allowed to have as it goes against DOT laws? I don't have a picture of it to show, but it looks like upside down mountains, is the best way to describe it. The light unit is clean, no cracks in it and seems to work fine in every other manner. Has anyone else had this issue and if so, what is it?

Hi,
and best wishes!
I purchased in 2023 a fully loaded GLC 300 4 Matic fully loaded with pinnacle package with digital lights.
I believe there is a defect with the digital lights that Mercedes Benz is not being honest about I have had the same issue like you plus more I have my lights set on auto and my high beams will come become active then give me errors and yes it looks also as the something on the lights are being blacked Out 6 times brought in for service and fixed not good. Last time I brought in for think they disconnected something because now the auto high beams don’t work only when i manually pull to activate high beams absolutely no digital feature.
The question why spend the extra money and pay for digital features if you are not being provided the services you pay more. Hope this helps. Best of luck

US digital headlights are subject to USDOT regulations whereas Canadian and EU versions are not, This may create some of the weird effects that you are referring to - USDOT is a technically inferior specification. (Canada accepts both EU certification and USDOT certification, which is why for decades Canadian model cars have often had EU-spec headlights.)

Hi 👋
Yes all features are active on app and paid with full prescription. It’s 100 percent defective and i just think there is a serious issue with it. I wish Mercedes Benz would be more open of the problem and recall and notify there customer. All dealerships working on car said they have need to contact Mercedes Benz HQ and had to order parts from Germany with out good results.
they say it’s repaired but when I’m driving in a dark area and high beams come on I get error again.
it’s strictly annoying.
These are just a few photos there is almost 2 years worth

Yes very dangerous!
especially when driving thru back roads and highways I’m really not familiar with… it was working at one time for a couple of days. I’ve checked and there isn’t any restrictions in New York on the digital lights.
if there was then the dealership or Mercedes Benz should notify there customers.
thank you for the reply.

I would like to know if they found a good solution to your problem.
