Loose Styrofoam Piece

I was washing my car the other day and noticed this piece of styrofoam sticking out from under the hood at the base of the windshield. I'm thinking it's some sort of weather shield for the engine compartment but I don't know where it's supposed to go. I got my car ceramic coated and I'm thinking that it must have somehow been dislodged when they opened the hood. Does anyone know where it goes?

I recieved this schematic from the parts manager at the dealership. Its part 650 in the schematic below. Unfortunately I still cannot figure out where this foam part goes. Does anyone else have a styrofoam part in this area of their engine compartment? If you can take a photo that would be greatly appreciated!

2025 GLC 350e
I looked at my GLC and didn’t see where it would go. Based on the drawing and it not being visible on my car, I believe it goes under piece 150 in the drawing which is held in place by three plastic twist clips. I didn’t disassemble mine to look.

I looked and did remove the cover and it seems to be on the far left of this image.
On the far left?

i.e. it's not covered by the plastic thing, it's on the fender itself.

Thank you so much! Much appreciated! I'm hope part 150 wasn't too hard to put back on!

Thanks again! Such a sneaky spot. No wonder I couldn't see it on any of the pictures online. Your picture was perfect!

That seems like a tight fit strange it got dislodged in the first place (so much for being a WATER DEFLECTOR water deflected it in this case.

Yes, it's quite snug. Not sure how it got loose. Maybe it wasn't installed correctly or someone removed it when I got the car ceramic coated and forgot to put it back. Anyways, all good now. So happy for help! It was so frustrating not being able to figure out where it went 🙃

Yes, it might had been improperly installed, nothing snapped and broken right? Yes, thank the other forum member for helping : )

Yes, I thanked him already above 😊 Thankful for this Forum!
Nothing snapped or broken. The foam part fit right into place with no issues. I'm not sure how effective of a water deflector it is, but at least it's where it needs to be.

As long as it is actually deflecting water.
