Exclamation 2025 GLC first service

Hello there,It's been almost a year since I got my 2025 GLC. I have driven the car only about 4k miles. The dashboard is now showing that the car is due for service B.
  • It is mandatory to do the recommended service at the dealership?
  • How much is the cost for the first service in US?
  • What is service A vs service B?
Thanks in advance!

Did you buy this used? First service is normally an A service which is just an oil and filter change. Service B is same as A, but with other items such as air filters and brake fluid change. If your car is a year old with only 4K it would be an A service. Cost will vary but expect to pay at least $250 and as much as $800 for an A service depending on the dealership and what "extra" things they recommend. An Indy shop will typically be cheeper and just as good depending on the shop. You can opt for just an oil change at the dealership and pay closer to $250 depending on the dealership.

No, I bought it brand new. I will try to upload a picture of what the dashboard is showing.

Welp, that is strange unless the PDI folks accidentally? (Which doesn't happen because they have to go to the workshop menu to confirm) reset it. Maybe they did an oil change (if vehicle was sitting on the lot for more than a year) prior to delivery? What is your build date?

You do not have to use the dealership. KEEP ALL RECEIPTS to keep the warranty intact.

The B service is the expensive one. When my '22 GLC needed B service, the two MB dealerships both charged $1,300. I found a small independent shop that did it for $600 and I had no problem with my lease return. The independent shop also documented the service and it was on the CarFax when the car was returned and listed for resale. The car resold in two days.

They call B the major service after all.

I agree had A service done locally for $300. Will have the shop do the B which I expect to be around $600 too. The last service on the lease MB will do since it is do the same time I turn in the car. Done this for all but the 1st lease. Never had a problem.

B service usually include a brake fluid change that might be what drives up the price a little, but here is an idea of what B service includes but a older vehicle: https://www.mercedes-benz.ca/content..._Ed_B__ENG.pdf

Here is a copy of the service sheet for the 254 that shows what is done for both the A and B service and other service requirements beyond A & B.

Dashboard - Service B

Here is a photo of the dashboard.

Here is a photo of the dashboard showing Service B requirement. I have only 3,680 miles on the car.

Does the term "Drive it like you stole it" apply to your driving style? - Service B is around 20K miles

So I finally called Mercedes customer service and they agreed that it should be Service A for the first year.

I ended up going to a Mercedes dealership in Northern Virginia (USA) and I was quoted $650+ for service A.

I paid about $540 after declining optional wiper blade replacement.
