Replacement tires for 20 inch glc 43
What’s everyone replacing them with? Specifically looking at alternate sizes which fit the oem rims and don’t rub.
Most likely going to be downsizing tire width to get some decent options.
- Front: 245/45ZR20
- Rear: 275/40ZR20

Tire size calculator shows less than 1% variation from stock for these sizes. Also have had good experience with the michelins on a previous car.

I haven't swapped the rears out yet because they are still at about 75%. My wheel and tire guy checked out the match of outside diameter between the new Contis and the existing rears and the sizing for the new rear contis for when I eventually swap them out. He was completely unconcerned about the extra width on the wheel. He had no concerns about performance or wheel fit. His only concern was that different manufacturers have different tolerances for their outside diameter and he wanted to ensure that OD closely matched between front and rear wheels. It turns out, the sizing for the Conti combo is actually closer to a matching front/back OD than the stock sizes are. Changing just the fronts brought this ratio slightly closer as well. Big differences between front and rear OD can cause fits with traction and stability control. Since these cars use a lot of active braking when tc kicks in, tc can bog down the vehicle and may cause it to eat brakes pretty quickly.
