2020 GLC 43 Audio not working

Car is about 2 months old. Today I went to run an errand and noticed there was no audio. Adjusting the volume does nothing, it doesn't even show the volume is changing on the screen. I can change stations fine and I can load up some via my phone, but no sound comes out and like I said, the volume controls don't do anything. Anyone else had anything like this?

Thanks.

Tom

Is it muted? Have you tried pressing/clicking in the volume knob?

I had that happen today also. Used to happen occasionly on my GLA45 as well. I just shut the car off and let it reset...then works fine. It has to be off for a little while though, just a few minutes is not enough to reset it. Today I was out of the car for 30 minutes and was fine after that.

Thanks. I turned on the car today and it works. Still kind of irritating, I've had the car for 2 months.

GLS 450
No Sound

Hi Tom,
I have a 2020 GLS 450 and I have the exact same problem. I am sorry about your frustration, but I am so glad you posted here because I thought I was going a little crazy. It does seem to work if it has been off, but, you are right, with such a new (and expensive) car, this is ridiculous. Does anyone know if there is a long-term fix? Or if there is something you can do while you are driving so you don't have to stop and wait for it to reset?
Since you posted so long ago, I was hoping you might have figured it out

In the menu did it mistakenly get set to Media vs Radio? If this happens you will not hear anything unless you are connecting to the aux port or running Bluetooth. If that is it, simply scroll back through the steering wheel menu and select Radio.

2015 GLK 350, 2020 GLC43
Hi, I realize this thread is going on a year old, but I thought I would add some content as I had this issue and then was able to get sound working on my car.

I experienced this on my 2020 GLC43. No audio of any kind, no radio, no Apple Carplay, nothing. Went into the sound settings where you set the options (Bass, Mid, Treble), and the up down arrows were there, but there were no numbers. Went into Dealer Mode and looked for the Audio options, completely blank page - it was as if audio just didn't exist on the car.

I created a new user profile, switched to it, and then switched back and then sound started working again.

Perhaps a newer revision of MBUX 1.0 NTG 6 solved the glitch.

GLE AMG 53 Coupe - 2021
I am having the same issue with my 2021 GLE AMG 53 - no sound at all, no numbers in the equalizer (just dashes), no options under Audio options in dealer mode (just blank), nothing is muted, it doesn't matter if I'm plugged into CarPlay, Wired Connection, Radio (FM/AM/Sirius) or Bluetooth etc. nothing works.

This has been happening to the car for the last 2-3 weeks and no amount of time of leaving it off has worked (no updates have seemed to go through) - I've left it off overnight to a couple of days while traveling, still no 'auto-fix' as some have discussed above.

I tried factory resetting MBUX - that didn't work off the bat - I did create a new profile (due to the reset, this also didn't work) however what I haven't tried is creating *another* new user and switching between the two of them, to your point @TheRealAlfonso - will give that a shot tonight - but really a really curious problem indeed.

I would love additional feedback if anyone has!

Most of the times this issue is related to the battery.

try changing the battery or see if it’s still good

Audio on Mercedes GLC 300

Thanks for the feedback from everyone, it helped me figure it out.

I found the reason mine didn’t work is I didn’t allow enough time for the audio to initialize/ set before I started moving the car. Once the car is in motion, it seems the audio setup stalls and you have no sound. Giving it the extra minute or so it needs to set up after you start the car and before you begin driving, may be the solution. Hope that helps!
