C63 to GLC63S

Hi gang.

I currently own a w204 C63 507 sedan and am thinking of trading it in for a 2019/2020 GLC63S. Although I love the 507, it doesn't really suit my lifestyle anymore. I have a A3 for a winter car (I live in Canada) and enjoy the utility of it for skiing and carting the dog around, though it's a bit small. The GLC would replace both vehicles and provide (I hope) what I enjoy of each. However, I'm concerned I'll miss the rawness of the 507.

Has anyone gone from a w204 C63 to a GLC63S and can comment on the transition? Any regrets? Anything you miss from the C63? Any must haves on the GLC? (aside from performance exhaust of course) Much appreciated!

Pic of my 507

I personally cannot speak to the switch. BUT, if I was in your position I would keep the 507 Edition and get the GLC 63S as well. That 507 must surely become a future collectible at some point, especially with that N/A V8 under the hood.

Believe me, if owning both was an option that would obviously be the preference. Sadly, not in the cards financially. Even if it was, I don’t have room in the garage for 3 cars (my wife’s included). The A3 is parked elsewhere during the summer and gets swapped for the 507 in the summer.

I had a w204 that I miss dearly. I then sold it to get a 2015 macan turbo and sold that to get into my current 2018 glc63 that I also love.

I'm at work so I can go into it in detail, but pm me and ill give u my thoughts later

If you're ready to move to an SUV, go with a 2020 GLC63 or GLC63s. Which ever you prefer. You won't regret it.

Make the move only if you absolutely need an SUV.
I probably have one of the most "utilized" GLC63 and as monstrous as it is, it is still not as raw as a C63, W204 or W205.

The 63s is the only option in Canada so makes that part of the decision easy. I’m not convinced the infotainment changes in the 2020s are worth it TBH. Brand new 2019s are being sold of at a substantial discount.

This is what I’m afraid of. I’ve never personally owned an SUV as my main vehicle. My wife has one but it’s the family car. Not sure I’d enjoy driving one daily.

Appreciate the input, gang!

I received a 2020 and the whole dash went out in a week ... the new infotainment is handy but personally I like the older system on my 2018. Easier to maneuver and less clutter. I do have my 18 for sale in the market place !

Yep, I could care less about the info systems. Give me a tach and speedometer and I am good to go....

I moved from w205 c63s to the GLC63 and prefer the GLC63S

prefer the 4 matic, planted feel and aggressive stance

I drove both the GLC63s and C63 507. To me, the fun factor is same except the sound. You can drive and launch so much faster in GLC without worrying about losing control. GLC63s is more rare in Canada, looks awesome and more practice. However, I would get A used E63s. Love the space and flexibility to switch between AWD and RWD. You may get a good deal with the new facelift E63s coming out next year!

AMG GLC63S Coupe
AMG GLC63S Coupe

So I transitioned from a 2018 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio to a 2020 AMG GLC63S Coupe. Best decision I ever made. Having all-wheel drive plus the addition of the amazing sound and performance makes this car so much fun to drive. Not to mention the interior redesign from 2019 And earlier versions to the 2020 makes the car look twice as nice with a lot more creature comforts (not necessary to have I am sure but it’s nice to have an interior that finally matches the quality of the car.)

I bought the renntech HHT which added a hundred horsepower and 115lb of torque + burbles at 3k+ rpm and it’s literally amazing as well as being th easiest thing to “install”. I get compliments almost every day and after having it for almost a year, I still look back
at the car every time I walk away from it.

I’ve since removed all the chrome which should’ve been an option to startt. It has the midnight package but still comes with chrome door handles and accents above taillights.

I love that line. I too enjoy looking back at the car. That is when you know you made the right choice.

I'm an enthusiast, and I would say that 507, keep it. No brainer. 6.2L, Naturally Aspirated, V8, and you can rev it out for days. Then I would add a 2019 or 2020 GLC63 SUV.

C63s
I suggest get something else, the tranny is too jerky at low speed, not enough exhaust sound!! Seats are too hard... Lots of interior plastic noise!! Spend 10-15%more gas than c63..!?(I guess cuz the weight and AWD)
the only good thing is all wheel drive good in winter, and launch hard.
Those are my options coming from 16 c63s..

Get the GLC 63s you won't miss having any other inferior cars ever again.
I drive mine 3x as much as my 2018 E63s wagon, it is that good..

No more MB:(
Keep the 507, you will regret it. Nothing special about the GLC63, can always be had.

I like the 507 visually. If you like it more stealthy, the P31 flies more under the radar. That said, I own a P31, and think about putting the 507 stripe on. I dig the 70s speed block vibe.
