GLC 63: Selenite Grey or Brilliant Blue?

Hey all, decided to order a GLC 63, but am procrastinating over the color, so figured i'd come here to solicit some opinions (although I fully appreciate how subjective this is). After reading through the posts here, I disregarded the Magno finish, on account of the maintenance issues around not being able to respray a single panel (which i've had to do on previous rides due to either careless idiots in parking lots, or my own error at home). That leaves us with the Brilliant Blue and the Selenite Grey.

I like the blue, it looks poppin' in the pictures from Mercedes, but have not seen one in person, so it's a risk in that regard; seems like it could also affect resale later as its a more opinionated color? The Selenite Grey on the other hand certainly has that sleeper vibe, but as the calipers will also be grey / silver as standard, im concerned its might come off looking drab? Saw some pictures on this forum of folks doing post-purchase Xpel Stealth wraps on the Selenite Grey that looks fantastic, but the ~10k that would potentially cost makes less sense for our family right now. My wife's car is Blue (different manufacturer), so I think she likes the grey for the simple reason that she prefers our cars don't match (we both have blue cars right now) 😆

I'm sure this is something you folks here have had to think about, so would love to hear thoughts / suggestions!

Is Cardinal Red an option? I have a Selenite GLC300, it's good looking but boring. The brilliant blue I feel is a bit boy-racer for a GLC, even in 63 trim, and for me the red is the best of both worlds.

ItalianJoe1, yeah the red is an option - never owned a red vehicle though, so that would certainly be a change. It looks better that I had imagined after some googling of real-life pictures (configurator makes it look quite poppin as well)

The Cardinal red is amazing in person, and not a bright or obnoxious red. My favorite color by far on the GLC63, and most benz products for that matter. I wish I would have waited to get my 300, I would have gotten it in Cardinal. I just took a deal on a 2018 in very late 2018 when the 19s were already out, so I got a good deal over choosing my color. The wife likes the grey but the red is just fantastic on that car, especially on the more aggressive 63 body and trim. But obviously color is 100% subjective.

Not a GLC, but the E63 S Wagon press car is Brilliant Blue Magno.

That’s what I’m getting. Everyone has grey.

That's a pretty slick color; not a huge fan of the magno finish on the blue there, but its probably more impressive in person (the sheen appears to be hard to capture in pictures - saw a magno grey C63S at the car wash the other day and it was much more impressive in person).

Oh nice S4VT! Appreciate the photo, thanks - it’s good to see the blue color up close; was worried it might be toward the purple end of blue spectrum, but it doesn’t look that way at all in the photo.

Can't go wrong either way; but I think the blue is a great look. Hmm, this is coming from a very plain guy...just realized my last 10 cars over the past 28 years have been either black or white. I do like the blue body black wheel combo.

I'd go with Blue. Everyone has gray. I was torn between Blue and Silver and stuck with Silver since Blue would be hard to clean with winters here in Michigan. I had a similar colored STI and it was hard to keep clean. I looked at Red, but it reminded me of someone's grandpa's Cadillac.

The blue with the black trim looks tight, but I'd go with the red as it's very rare, and a nice red at that. I'm usually not a gray scale supporter, but the magno gray is pretty cool looking, especially with the year 1 yellow highlights.

I don't like the blue at all but then again, I think all cars should be black, white or gray.....

Go with the Brilliant Blue. I have it and it's gorgeous!

It seems like every other MB you see is either black, white or grey, rather boring. Black and white seem like you were too cheap to pay for a non-free color on an expensive car.

I've gotten a lot of complements on the Brilliant Blue and it's rare enough to look unique (bc the majority of Benzs are all black/white/grey...).

Nice choice. I took delivery today of my Navarra Blue S4, and I am super happy with the color choice, better in person than I was expecting.

Congrats on the S4! I was very close to buying a 2020 S5 Sportback in Turbo Blue, but decided to take my wife's GLC43 (love it), so she could have her Q8 dream come true:

Galaxy Blue

Great questions n write up. I went grey on account of how incredible this car looks. But I think you'll be thrilled with the blue nonetheless.

Totally agree, they look awesome. 22" probably makes it a bit of a stiff ride though :-D
