How accurate is the dash HP/TQ display?

More specifically after a tune. Has anyone compared the dash readout of the HP & TQ to a dyno test to see how close they compare? Also, does anyone know how this dash reading is calculated in the car?

I would guess that it isn't accurate at all. Probably just shows what ever you max HP is supposed to be when you mash it.

I assumed so as well...but it does not. I assumed it was just a video game type readout that would just show numbers based on throttle input, rpm's, etc... but after a tune I was surprised to see it reads higher hp & tq numbers. So it is obviously getting some kind of data from the ECU that changes the readout

Interesting, i have a stage 2 EuroCharged tune but I haven't looked at that display in a long time and certainly not since I have gotten the tune.

I have to ask where do I find the information/display?
Or is this only on S models?

No...not on just the "S" but perhaps only on the 2020+ w/MBUX? I can pull up the display on the driver gauge cluster or on the middle infotainment screen

It's on the 2019 too.

I will have to go look to remember how to pull it up. Somewhere under "car/vehicle" and "sports display".

If I remember correctly on my '19 it's located in Vehicle Settings (press the Vehicle button on the center console) and scroll to Engine Data I believe.

Found it. Reference the COMAND Supplement documentation, page 50 titled Dynamic Select > Displaying engine data (lower right corner of the page).

Did you ever figure this out? I am wondering the same thing. I am getting 695hp on my dash but cant get anything higher than that. Thats with stage 1 tune. I am hoping thats not accurate because i was expecting more power. What numbers are you seeing? I k ow the car has torque sensors so.ewhere and I wonder if thats what it uses for data.

No, I never looked into this any further. In cold air the HP is reading into the 680's...Warmer air is in the 650's

Any chance you were able to compare with a Draggy?

Yes, I did a handful of runs and was pulling pretty consistent 0-60(1ft) in the 2.9s. Best was 2.87.
