Windshield replacement - No ETA for GLC63
Recently had my windshield hit by a rock and the crack is pretty gnarly. Submitted the insurance claim the last week of April, class was ordered on the 28th and Safelite just called to let me know the glass is on backorder, with no ETA. Apparently it can be up to 3-4 weeks for the replacement to arrive, maybe longer.. Just FYI for those of you out there who were considering cracking your windshield in the near future :-P

I'm right there with you... had mine for less than a week before I got a massive crack directly in my line of vision about 2 days ago.
Just curious on the Safelite part... since we have acoustic glass, are they replacing with OEM merc or generic glass?

you have to request OEM glass specifically or they will opt for an aftermarket product. That said, I hear the aftermarket windshield is available but not sure what the quality is.

I called Allstate windshield repair, which is managed by Safelite, told them I’m going to the dealership and getting Merc glass. They said that’s your option, just submit the invoice with proof of payment for reimbursement. The dealer had the glass in 3 days. $850 (no calibration necessary - also no HUD on mine).
