Manufacturing /delivery delays
#76
Hi All, I've been intently following MBworld specifically this forum. I was told in July by my dealer they had a '21 GLC63 currently in production quickly approaching an uncustomizable date so I jumped at it. I placed the deposit and have been in contact since then with no new update, "still in production." I know '22's are off the table. Does anyone know if MB still is producing '21's?

Still waiting
Perhaps it is time to make a big noise about that. Nationwide petition of some sort, legal action? What go you think?
I waited 18 months for the car. I am driving my MB for 7 moths or so. My maps are dated 2019, Android Auto seems to be buggy. Without the module, I can't get any updates and I wouldn't be so sure if the missing module could not pose safety risk. I have no idea how many cars MB shipped without the module, but it seems to me that MB cares about pushing sales numbers higher at expense of convenience and comfort, perhaps even safety of their existing customers.

I didn't even know that the car came without it. Dealership informed me earlier that the augmented vision requires Hermes module to work. After two visits to the dealership, the missing camera hardware was ordered. There is no estimated delivery date.
It is quite frustrating to realize that MB choose to install components scheduled for my car in somebody else's S class. The current AMG GLC 63s Coupe is my only second Mercedes after 1957 190SL and most likely the last one.

Update: Called the dealer one day before Thursday's appointment to ensure part arrived. Dealer installed the kit and updated whatever needed to be updated.
Augmented Video now work perfectly and I have to admit it is a really nice feature. One of those things you didn't think you'd care about but really liked it after having it.
As far as the Hermes chip, it is a major bone of contention that even the receptionists' are aware of. They are trickling in but not enough to send out a service campaign bulletin.
I'm told they won't send out unless the quantity of parts needed are withing certain limitations.
Any guess is as good as another.

If the dealer has accepted your order, this model is being produced. The problem may be a delay in the necessary components for assembly, or there were problems during the loading and unloading of the machine. You should not be shy and wait for a call. As a customer, you have every right to call the manager and clarify why the delivery of the machine is delayed. You have more power than they do. I had had several cases when my things broke down when moving. I wrote complaints, and the money was returned to me. Then I found the crew of accomplished movers, and I don't come across this anymore. Therefore, do not suffer, but show your dissatisfaction.

Anyone have any updates on production status for GLCs or if there are any delays? I ordered a 2023 GLC 43 Coupe at the end of Sep with an Oct 26 build date. I reached out to my dealer but haven't heard back yet. Also, if anyone has recent updates or just took delivery, were you able to get all your options?
I'm trying my best to be patient but it's really hard. I'm watching the same youtube videos (love the performance exhaust sound) and keep looking at pics, haha!

Yeah, it should be at the top left of the form. Once you get that number, you can then track your car form the time it gets loaded on a ship until it gets to your port of call-

Brunswick GA VPC delays
Anyone else dealing with very long waits for delivery from Brunswick? I understand my ‘22 GLC has been prepped but has been placed in storage for weeks. Is there a shipper bottleneck?

I can’t speak on MB but, I know Cadillac is having trouble getting its vehicle from the plant due to shortage in rail road workers. Not sure if it’s a strike or what. But some peoples cars have been sitting on a train car for well over a month.
