Manufacturing /delivery delays

Agree with Elvisfan, when I was talking to my dealer he said if they vehicle arrived incomplete and I didn’t want it my deposit was 100% refundable. Of course my order got cancelled all together before we could even get that far, so I’m not sure if that’s how it actually would of went down but I don’t think I would of had an issue getting my deposit back.

My 2022 order been cancelled and i was lucky enough to find pretty close specced pre built car locally and it was fully equipped one. Other places offered me 4 2021 incoming or available pre builts to pick from and 3 of em were incomplete, missing that hermes module. If you really want that last of its kind V8 then its probably ok to pick whats offered and wait a bit, maybe ask for some casback to buy patience or so..

covid changed everything.
im very fortunate and lucky to even have picked up my '21 back in June.
I do have one complaint though, the cabin creaks a little and sometimes a lot when i go fast.

My 2021 GLC 43, ordered in March, is finally on a ship (Helios Ray) with an ETA at Brunswick (Savannah, GA) 9/4. It is missing the HERMES module and dealer says they have no ETA for the module (others in this thread say they've been told Dec '21 or Jan '22). In order to take delivery, we have to sign the waiver. No dollars withheld until vehicle is made whole.....so, pay full agreed upon price for an incomplete vehicle or deal is off. I also asked if factory warranty would be extended because of the incomplete vehicle....big fat NO. If we choose not to sign the waiver, the vehicle sits at the port until the HERMES module becomes available. If we choose to cancel order, we obviously lose the vehicle and our $3500 deposit. Dealer has no incentive to give in to anything because they can sell it to others for higher profit.
Feel like we're being pressured to take delivery an incomplete vehicle. We sold our 2017 C43 in May to same dealer thinking we'd be getting this car in June as they told us. So we've been without a car for more than three months now and it's been more than 5 months since ordering. Wife is against signing waiver and paying full agreed upon price but I don't see that we have much of a choice.
Very frustrated with the situation and wondering about the legality of having to pay full agreed upon price for an incomplete vehicle, having to drive a vehicle that does not function as designed/ordered for indefinite period of time and the warranty not being extended. This scenario places a LOT of trust in Mercedes Benz and our dealership....in an industry that has a reputation for being pretty sleezy.

In the end I just wanted the vehicle, so I signed off on it. I got a reasonable deal on it back in March before the mark-up craze and shut down so I'm satisfied. Every other package I ordered is there and all I'm basically losing is the Augmented Reality Navi(which I was looking forward to, but wasn't a deal breaker), and it waiting a few more weeks/months for the Hermes to be installed.

You aren’t canceling. They are not delivering. There is no way that you are responsible if they can’t deliver. I know you decided to take the car. So it’s moot, until you are waiting a year for the part.

That's ridiculous. I put down ~5k and was told I could cancel and get my deposit back at any time when I ordered. I'm in NJ, so maybe states have different laws, individual dealerships have different policies, or one of our sales rep's is mistaken.
While I'm choosing to accept my vehicle as is and wait for the part, I think you have every right to be pissed off and you deserve to get every cent of your deposit back. Don't think for a second your dealer won't be able to sell that vehicle you ordered.

Well, finally took delivery on our GLC43 this week. It took 6 months and 3 days from when we ordered in March. Of course, it is without the HERMES module with no ETA for that
Appointment to get ceramic coating on entire vehicle, clear film on the front and front windows tinted next week.

Also, the 3yrs of included map updates clock doesn't start until the HERMES module is installed.

Ok, so not so bad. The live traffic can be a little wonkie anyway. We were on a trip and suddenly pops up an hour delay. It showed solid red right in front of me. Even though I could see a mile ahead and there was barely a car in front. Then 2 minutes later, it’s gone. Also, a road close to me shows construction for miles. There isn’t a cone anywhere.
Have fun.

My story:
Dealer gave me 8% discount off of MSRP and kept his word.
Ordered my LOADED customized E350 w AMG night & wheel package. Name it, I got it.
Small setback for the contoured messaging seats (must have)
Arrived at Tampa Port Authority end of July.
Took delivery Aug 19.
MB Me-Coonect, Augmented video, Navigation updates and some stuff waiting for Hermes chip missing and we don't notice. (Car-Play & Nav works fine)
Driving home something hit the windshield, cracking it at 250 miles.
Dealer gave me loaner car and Replaced windshield and all is well.
We LOVE this car.

Question: If I received my vin# today from the dealer, does anyone know how to track your car once you receive the vin#? I read somewhere in the forums there was a way to do it while it's on the boat over to the US, but don't remember the name of it. Does anyone know it?

That ^ and you could also ask your dealership to update you, or ask someone to help you run the VIN through Netstar.
