I'm very happy and paired mine with some turbo blankets and then gave the hot air a way out of the engine bay. After 20 minutes of hard, non stop driving, I can pull over and lay my hand right on the heat shield and not scream like a girl. Sitting still it takes 10-15 minutes to REALLY warm up the engine bay. Long story short, the intake is great, but the turbo blankets, trimming the rear seal(I originally had it completely off, but it looked like poop), and opening up as much of the front intake channels as possible for cool airflow into the engine bay is really what made this a winner. That rear gasket really seals up the engine bay as far as hot air, and it also mutes the $h1t out of the turbo sound into the cabin. You will be shocked when you feel the hot air coming from the back of the hood when the gasket is off. Turbo blankets are incredible at lowering underhood temps, and a no brainer for this set-up imo. Downpipes and a tune coming shortly.

Ordering a kit soon!
I'm going with the full ceramic coat heat protection on the heat shields and the intake pipes themselves.
Hope to make a difference.
Already have a turbo blanket, and my aluminum turbo cover plate will be ceramic coated for heat protection also.
AND....
My Pure 1000 turbos have the hot side ceramic coated also.
AND...
My Modalworks catted downpipes are also heat-shielded.
AND...
as soon as the CSF 3-piece intercooler upgrade kit is released, adding that.
AND...
next year before the summer: WMI.

So I plan to have the best heat-insulated/protected M177 in the USA.

Inquiring minds, etc.
The owner left the OE intake funnels in and modified them with round PVC type stuff and painted them the same color as the intake? I don't think that is any part VRP sells and was custom done by the owner. I was going to do the same, but found without the turbo sucking air through the tube, it was actually restrictive in letting cool air into the engine bay and to the filter.

Material cost ended up putting the tube pair in the $250 price range so we never brought it into production.

Hey there! This customer bought a color but decided to take the color off completely so that's why it's black! Thank you for bringing it to my attention though, I will add that option to the listing.
Unfortunately, we currently don't have any downpipe options for the GLC.

Looking at these for my 20 63s but what are turbo blankets? I know the heat shields/panels are on thing but didn't know what TB's were. Living in GA it gets hot here too and I daily mine.

Turbo blankets go under the turbo cover & do 2 great things for you:

1. Keep the turbo heat IN THE HOT V which helps the turbos perform better, and
2. Help keep that heat out of the engine bay, so that intake temps can remain low, which aids performance.

Mine stops about 200-230 degrees F from "coming up." I love it.
