Finally! Michelin makes an all-season tire in 20" for AMG 43 owners!

If you're a long-suffering AMG 43 owner (like me) running the stock 20" Goodyear Eagle Sport MOE (run-flat) tires, you'll know that there hasn't been a single tire manufacturer that offers an all-season, non-run flat replacement. But GOOD NEWS - Michelin has just released their CrossClimate2 line in both sizes we need (255/45/20 & 285/40/20)!

I put my set on yesterday, and after a couple trips in the car I can tell you they're an incredible improvement over the harsh ride quality of the Goodyears. They're quiet, they're softer, and they're Michelin's. Go read the reviews on the CrossClimate2 and you'll see how great they are.

I've been waiting two years for this day. If you also want to ditch the run-flats, I can't recommend these tires enough. Technically the 285's aren't supposed to be out until May, but I called Tire Rack directly and they were shipped within a few days - they have them in stock right now. Also, Amazon is running a special on the ResQ Pro+ air compressor with tire sealant - it's down to $60. Throw that in your trunk and you'll be good to go.

Happy Day!

Can you post a picture of them mounted? I'd like to see what they look like on the car

Also they are on the tire rack website in this size now, so they must have added them in the last few days.

@beholdtheflesh Here are a couple pics for you. They're the exact same size as the Goodyear's of course, so they look identical on the car (albeit with a much tougher-looking tread pattern)

I've only got maybe 50 miles on these tires, so when they fully break in they're just going to get better. Couldn't be happier!

Looks great! And I like the look of that meaner looking tread pattern!

Definitely getting these probably in late summer, gotta squeeze out the last few thousand miles from my goodyears

Good timing on this info.
I just switched from winter tyres and was told by the workshop people that my Goodyear set needs replacing when I come in for the next winter tyres switch.

HEY! I noticed they were available too and immediate booked my car in for swap out. I was so excited because otherwise I'd have to switch out the rims for a smaller wheel and am not ready to change my rims on my car to get rid of these run flats. Someone else was recently complaining about these new tires so reading your review puts my mind at ease. My goodyears only have 20 thousand on them but I am desperate to get rid of this horrible ride. Not sure what to do with the old tires and if it is worth the hassle to sell them.

20k miles? I only had 5k on mine before putting these Michelin's on. I hated the run-flats that much, and I'm very happy with the results!

BTW, if anyone wants to buy 4 Goodyear Eagle run-flats, I'll give you a hell of a deal

Oh good. I don't feel bad then. So you are noticing a noticeable difference then? I have this fear i paid all this money for minimal results. The worst is how loud it is when I'm driving over cracked roads.

I never experienced crabbing either during the cold months, however a Youtuber AB-Auto I believe said once he switched out his tires from his run flats to regulars the crabbing was completely gone. I do enjoy his videos and he always beefed about crabbing.

Yep, definitely a noticeable difference. I don't dread rolling over rough roads like I used to. And after a couple hundred miles of break-in I think they're getting even softer. I'm really happy. I'm going on a long freeway drive tomorrow, which is where I normally heard the most noise from the run-flats, but I think they'll be quieter. Come to think of it, I went on a freeway drive last weekend too, and I didn't even think to listen for noise - must be because they weren't making as much!

Ditto, only 4500 miles on the Goodyears, Michelin's are much better ride, did mine a little over a week ago, Discount Tire gives $110. Michelin rebate currently. I've settled on 36-F 37-R psi when cold. Very happy so far...

Oh wonderful TimP. Thanks. I can't wait for Wednesday. That's what his happening to me now. Plus all the bumps are hard, i wonder if some of the interior creaking will lessen with a softer tire.

That's great to hear bsaz. I wish I did Discount Tire but mine are already bought. I guess I was so excited that I reacted. I dont normally do that but I have felt tortured by this noise ... must not have realized how much.

In a good way, for sure, roads here are pot hole city, ride is not as choppy, road seams/patches are not as harsh. I still haven't driven on open road at a decent speed with these tires, so can't attest to road noise or control at high speed. I should find an excuse within the next week or so to hit the interstate. (75 mph posted limits here, 80 to 100 pretty normal). My expectation is that they will be wearing faster because of the tread pattern, and based on comments from others. At this point it was a good move, still have the Goodyears' if anybody is interested! This is car number three with low profile tires, 2nd with run-flats, not happy with either design, I drive my truck with 265/70R tires a lot!

Good to know. I am on the highway have the time in my commute so I'll post here my reports. Portions of the highway have major rutting and its very loud riding over. Let us see if it gets better. I hope so :-(

Hi. I just had mine installed. THey're ok. But i'm noticing a little more vibration on the car. Is that normal since its not Runflat? maybe not balanced right? They spent a long time on them.
